I’ve noticed the SPO-15 cockpit RWR panel is going to be implemented in this upcoming update. Does anyone know why it hasn’t properly been implemented before? I mean this in the functional way, as already displayed in game, as it is missing some very important and specific features that it should have. see infographic on how to read the SPO-15 panel type:
Unless they changed, IIRC only missing features are angle to secondary threat, launch indication and directly front signal source
Ahh, alright, I’ll have to check, but it doesn’t have threat type, right?
Honestly not sure. Was too focused on the main three (for me) features of SPO-15:
- Above/Below (since this does really helps with figuring out from there enemy comes then intercepting)
- Signal Strength
- Lock on
Threat type is fairly important, knowing if you dealing with a SAM, SPAA, or a Fighter is important.
Launch indication is ingame
Threat type is ingame as well.
AI, air intercept radar
PD, pulse doppler radar
N-H, nike-hercules system
HAWK, hawk system
A/D, air defense system
CW, continuous wave signal
Apparently the DCS style (airborne, long, medium, short, EW, awacs) tags aren’t accurate and were basically fudged for DCS.
On UI yes, but on the RWR inside the cockpit?
anyone know how to tell distance? i understand its the blue line, but how much distance does each circle mean?
Distance is based on signal strength, it’s the square lights that form a circle around the plane between the circles.
The circles tell you the angle at which the enemy is coming from the front, the rear only has 2 directions, left & right, if both light at the same time, it means they are directly behind you.
