I thought all the SPICE bombs were glide ones

They are. The only one that might be consider not one is the SPICE-250ER which has a motor but is still a SPICE-250 glide bomb really

I meant the ones with actual wings, the 2k ones are much heavier and I immediately went for the 1k as those are more than enough.

What I meant is that the ones with actual wings are more than good enough. The 2k are, in my opinion, way too heavy for what they give you. The 1k do have more range and work just as good.

The weight doesn’t change how far they go. I’ve hit 15km shots with the 2000s consistently. Maybe the 1000s can go further, but until they add man in the loop capability, anything beyond that doesn’t matter in WT.

The weight is not a problem because of that, but rather because of the effect it has on the aircraft itself.

I’m currently using them on the F-16D and it’s not the fastest plane by any means, it holds its own. I prefer to bring a lighter loadout that is just as lethal as the other one.

speaking of effect on target, does the SPICE seeker act like a Maverick by locking onto moving tanks?

too bad, iirc most of them should be much worse to totally ineffective against tanks like the AASM

Heavier bombs, especially if guided, are overkill anyways.

Direct hit to the roof armor of the tank will disable it no matter if its 500 or 1000 kg bomb.

Only time when larger bomb comes into play in these sort of situations is when you go for indirect hits against light vehicles, relying on AoE effect.

2K have around half the range of 1K but they are absolutely amazing at destroying ships in air sim

I’m sure you will enjoy it.

As soon as I unlocked it i never touched D again.

Best thing about C model is it can equip both Derby and Aim-120 which makes pretty versitale for both and short range.
