Spice 250 hit accuracy

Can someone explain to me. is spice 250 supposed to hit targets direct or land couple meters away doing little damage to tank like destryoing only thing like track or barrel?

You could be dropping too late and the bomb doesn’t have enough time to maneuver

Also the spice 250 has very very minimal amount of explosives which is why it does not kill sometimes

I run a 0.5s timer on spice 250, so it doesn’t fuse on armor and do nothing and so it doesn’t fall too far away.

im dropping them from 3km up to 8km away from the enemy everytime it hit couple meters away. so its not distance issue. only thing i kill with spice 250 are light tanks such as 2s38 bmp 2m because they have no armor but i didnt kill any mbt in it.

That might be to far away, but i’m uncertain on this. I think at that point they have lost a lot of their energy so they will have a much harder time maneuvering during the terminal phase (can’t turn as much or as hard at the end) so if the enemy moves they will have a harder time following the target. 8km is also at the edge of their tracking if i remember correctly, are you sure they are dropped in track mode and not point mode?

yes i always drop them in tracking mode. and this 8km rarely more often i launch them from 3 to 5km and they still miss targets that are stationary… i only launch them for this 8km when it comes to flank unaware spaa

@Circleati Might be the same issue.

Withwise to seeker, I thought it had a 12km lock range, but don’t quote me on that.

But kinematically. Assuming it wasnt dropped from very low altitude, 8km should be a piece of cake for the spice250s, given they are glide bombs

Make sure you’re dropping them when they’re tracking, not pointing. Sometimes the IR seeker won’t see anything if the target is moving

as i said. even when i track targets that are stationary from 3-4km it still land couple meters away. always

You sure? IR seekers are notorious for hitting on the nose.

I think that’s ideal conditions, (basically all numbers on all stat cards). 8km is probably the most common reliable lock range in-match, but as you said, don’t quote me on that x)

Well sure, they reach it no problem but they will lose a lot of speed on the way. glide bombs in general are designed for static target but some can hit moving ones as well. i assume just not as reliably.

Do you have a link to a server replay we can watch where this happens?

let me find game where i dropped most of them

they just bounce off the vehicle?
start watching at 5:40m

I got so VERY confused when you first spawned in a EF-2000 , took me longer than i would like to admit to realize it was a sim battle lol. Watching it now :)

They are going WAY to fast and WAY to low to do what they should in that situation, your basically doing glancing blows with them (like when you’re hitting a way to shallow angle with a tank round and it bounces instead of penetrating). Try doing a sharp pullup just before dropping so that they arc more and come top down instead of at a very shallow angle. That way if they miss a little they are still closer to the target and doesn’t fly a couple of meters past the target.

But we’re talking about 250kg bomb. Pretty smart one at that. It shouldn’t behave like a flat rock.

ok so those bombs are just useless at this point? if i have to go slow and high to effectively use them, its just death sentence on toptier full of spaa, i thought they will be good to engage more targets at once, also funny that bmp or 2s38 can bounce them off

They are a short term bodge-job until we get what we should have in the form of FnF Brimstone 2s, but yeah, they need to treated like GBUs that you can drop from further away and their release limit especially on the Typhoon is really annoying, almost renders them pointless to use imo

lol
