Speedrun in destroying Naval

GG
Since the new update, the compartments break disproportionately quickly.

Unplayable if you sink within 1 minutes because the compartments have been nerfed, even though this feature was already rejected by the community.

This update is a hot mess.

Wasn’t to bad before, but hulls are made out of paper now, So much fun sinking after 2 or 3 salvoes that hit above the water line…

Lmao

This is the ‘reality’ in the game. Gaijin can freely make any vehicle present the effects they want, making it IMBA or useless at will, and then claim that their game is “realistic”, LOL, Russians.

So a soviet pile of garbage BB that never actually existed beats the largest and arguably best BB ever.

Somehow I am not even surprised by this scumbagery. It’s somewhat comforting that “2nd best army in the world” isn’t even 2nd best in ukraine. Or ru**ia.

To sum up the absolute FAIL this update is to the naval AB:

Hull durability is a joke. Noone wanted this change. Noone is happy by it. They still introduced it.

The maps are GARGANTUAN. What is the best way to balance the new, powerful battleships? God forbid we have engaging game modes or fun or well designed maps… ENLARGE all the maps, add more empty water!!! How fun it is to now go for 5 minutes until reaching a distance sensible for gun engagement! I wouldn’t ever believe that I’ll miss the stupid big cap circle mode, but hey, here we are.

The aiming is broken. “devs” enlarged some of the maps, but didnt adjust the shell dispersion. FIring for 16-18 km is literally a hail mary, even assuming your target won’t maneuver. Again, how fun!

AA is utterly broken and useless. My 100 level expert crew can’t do crap.

Damage feels bugged, randomized, disappearing shells, you either nuke or bounce. Consistency has been thrown out the window.

Gamemodes- broken. Too many players, zerg rush to caps, battles over in 5 minutes. Who could’ve expected player influx after adding large battleships and predicted that gamemodes won’t be able to acommodate a zerg rush to caps, literally shocked.

I am going to gracefully omit mentioning IL28 flying over my WW2 ship and dropping nukes on my head while my AA tries to keep up. I think we can see the scale of the comedy without mentioning that.

EDIT: Oh, but I will mention the servers not able to handle player influx and throwing you out of a battle every now and then. And obviously giving you crew lock, because “devs” incompetence and swiss cheese of a code is totally something a player needs to be punished for :) Funny to see how they copy crap like the crew lock from WOWS, but not the good shit, like proper spawn system.

Gaijin “logic”, ladies and gentlemen. Screenshot this post before mod gang inevitably deletes.

EDIT2:

Also, why battles of big capital ships are decided by these funny boats? Why am I losing a game because a boat capped a circle 20km which I wouldnt reach even if I headed there from the very start of the battle?

Is that sarcasm? i cant tell. Yesterday I played two matches of naval and one was on the bs snow map where all you can do is sail straight to the point your spawning 5 km from because everyone spawns in a giant cluster 10 km from the enemies. as soon as you turn to get to the other two cap points you a: have to sail there 45° or more angled, further decreasing the distance to the whole enemy team shooting at you, but at least you’re angled so maybe your hull survives for 2 minutes or b: you turn 90 degrees, which takes forever, to get there quicker and with more distance to the enemy team (10 km lol) but now youre not angled. If that is the naval definition of gargantuan i don’t even wanna know what small is.

After two matches with maximum 2000 rp in research (for 3 kills in the amagi and mutsu) for the yamato i decided that, Yep, naval rb is still absolute abysmal and not worth my time. Apparently just adding 5 massive new ships and a giant russian fantasy dream to dominate them all doesnt change that and doesnt magically turn the game mode into something fun and playable. Shocker.

It’s not sarcasm, we actually hate THAT big maps. Just a lil’ wiggle makes your salvo miss the target, so you have to sail for entire eternity just to get close enough for your guns to hit and pen. And the fact that Soyuz obliterates anything in it’s path is another bullshit. Ship that did not ever existed wipes almighty Yamato. I started enjoying naval recently but man, this update is a mess. And huge +1 for hull durability that is a sad joke rn. My Scharnhorst sinks with 70% of it’s crew because of hull damage.

Did the increase of maps for 4 km between spawn points on the maps mentioned in the changelogs combined with the accuracy nerfs really make it that bad? Couldn’t stand playing more than 2 matches yesterday and both were 10 km engagement distances from spawn to spawn. As far as I’m concerned there are no big maps in naval rb. Also shouldnt increased distance make all bbs more survivable by increasing effectiveness of the armor? Obviously as long as that wet russian dream fantasy is sailing around it probably doesnt matter, but if you take it out of the equation?

Yeah hull durability is just bs. Way too overexaggerated, theres no feedback as to when it turns “black” and what that is supposed to mean, every ship has the same number of hull segments, it’s almost like bulkheads and watertight compartments in giant ships arent a thing. 3 of them “black”? well, now youre sinking. Absolutely ridicolous mechanic. If you think about it it’s basically a bad way of implementing something like the health bar system from wows. Just worse. The nr.1 reason why I (and i guess a lot of people) prefer wt over wot or wows, realism and more detailed models, well here you go, because we can’t be bothered to implement a damage model, or working models for ships in general, heres a mechanic that basically puts health points on a random number of “segments” of the ship and if those health points are gone you’re sinking and theres nothing you can do about it. Oh and by putting everything on tiny maps with 0 cover you also have no chance of increasing its effectiveness and even less time to dodge shots or make them miss vital areas by maneuvering. The main objective btw is right in the middle of the map, 5 km from the enemies spawn, but don’t worry, 2 of the 3 objectives are effectively only reachable for pt boats that go twice your speed. So theres not really a point in suiciding into the one objective that you can cap anyways. Happy sinking and random match results, everyone

If it would take much longer for it to happen, in more segments and maybe then you would either patch it up to not lose bouoyancy on that side of the ship and armor effectiveness to protect vital parts so you’d have to maneuver to show the armor on the other side of the ship that would more reflect the survivability and armor of these behemoths. ATM its just paper ships, I’m actually surprised they don’t automatically start sinking as soon as the paper is soaked and they start taking in water automatically.

Im talking about AB, as the thread is in AB section. And yes, even on short distances like 7km I just see shells fired from front and rear turrets crossing right in front of enemy ship, so when it’s facing towards you, you miss more than half of salvo. Played some AB games, most of them were on 20km maps. I even spawned outside of map, so for first 30-40 seconds I had to sail ahead to get into the battlefield. That’s just bad.

No irony there, I was maplocked 3 times this morning on the same map. Spawns 18km apart, horrible dispersion. I unironically breath a sigh of relief when I have the single cap circle battles

I think it’s the same distances in ab and rb but i’m not sure since i don’t play naval ab. Can someone confirm? Also I’ve seen something like a bug report of someone claiming (or proving? can’t remember) that shell dispersion is basically increased by 200% when maneuvering. Can’t remember if that was just vertically or both vertically and horizontally, but that seems overexaggerated by a lot. If that happens in ab aiming as well, well then youd basically have to sail straight to be able to hit anything

Yeah who would have guessed two years ago that those maps would play the best in the future. Would be funny if it wasn’t so sad. 18 km engagement distances from spawn sound nice tho, but only if you also have some cover, space to maneuver and theres not multiple invincible russian fantasy ships on the other team. But well, welcome to war thunders biggest naval patch

i guess i can play with AI once again.

Test Drive. Best naval mode ;-)

gotta grind through the entire tech tree to test drive every tech tree vehicle 😔

By the way, it’s also a cool bug that the amagi with 6 black compartments doesn’t sink

Damn so that’s why you can only test drive vehicles that you own or are researching. so people have to actually play the game

wdym? i have never managed to stay afloat in my amagi with more than 2 black compartments? Might have been a ui bug showing you its compartments were black while they actually weren’t? man that mechanic needs to go…
