Definetley not the E, most likely not the NG either. Both are stronger than the versions of the Typhoon and Rafale that we have, and the only way to balance out the playing field would be by ripping out critical features. The C is all sweden could have received, and even then it’s implementation is underwhelming to say the least…
What would those features be?
Yeah, which is why I stated NG/E
Such as?
The entire EW suite, radar etc. It’s simply not fesable to introduce such features and have them compete with the Rafale/Eurofighter
Which isnt modeled on anything and aircraft like the Typhoon also have EW
We are already expecting CAPTOR-E Any day now as per the CM Chat 7 and Rafale already has AESA.
As far as I can tell EW, proper ECM, radar data-link/radar sharing (or whatever they call that radar communication thing) aren’t going to be added anytime soon
Or even at all lmao
X-59 in trailer, I guess X-38MT wasnt enough.
But I guess Spear and SCALP are too OP to be added
Base Kh-59 (Kingbolt) is only going to be semi-useful for the USSRs 11.3 strike planes
Kh-59M (Kazoo) is worse than the Kh-38 in regular GRB gameplay
It will at the very least be X-59M2 or MK2 because the version in the trailer had a TV seeker.
Plus I mean I think the ability to have 4x 150km+ missiles and 2x X-29Ts will be slightly overpowered. The only reason that the devs wont add SPEAR or SCALP is because they are ‘too long range’.
I dont think there is really any excuse for X-59 in the game right now, its pretty obvious that Russia is getting a LOT of support (which it doesnt need at all) for CAS. Then they also have the two best AA systems in the game right now.
If they add X-59, ASM-2 needs its seeker to work against ground targets and we need SCALP and SPEAR
That’s kinda how it’s gonna be for a bit.
Proves what I’m saying, no? Such planes won’t be added, they are way too advanced IRL.
Think of it like adding the F35, but without any stealth because such capabilities “isnt modeled”. That would give us a top notch, modern F35 that struggles to keep up with the current top-tier lineup. Ripping out such crucial features for the sake of simply adding the plane isn’t the way forward.
Like the Typhoon and Rafale?
Heck even the Tornado and Harrier Gr7 have ECM suites
Well, judging by Statshark — no.
The Kh-59 has a TV seeker, unless they are going for the MK with a working ARH seeker, which likely either wouldn’t work at all (ASM-2) or only against ships (Kormoran).
If they add it with a ARH seeker that actually works against tanks, that opens the door for much more useful NATO weapons than Storm Shadow/SCALP.
(SPEAR isn’t even an option in the first place)
Until the devserver opens it is hard to tell which planes will get the Kh-59, which variant each plane gets and how many each plane will actually be able to carry (amount can be limited for balance reasons).
They are most likely adding F-35s before autumn next year and they probably won’t have proper ECM either
I dont entirely agree with that actually
Its one of the few things that would fit the “modern air warfare technologies” in this statement and its something I am still potentially expecting to see this major update or next.
Though I do agree its irrelevant for why the Gripen E has yet to be added
Why not?
In the CM thing that mentioned the multi vehicle SAMs they also claimed to be working on electronic support systems, but we have yet to see them add such things.
They all share same Kh-29T seeker it cannot lock target from farther than 12 km in really good weather.
SPEAR isn’t operational yet, or did I miss something?
The last thing I heard was test test launches from a Typhoon, no proper integration, no (to my knowledge) final specifications and the project won’t be finalised for another 4 to 5 years
