While the Gripen NG/E absolutely would be better than the C, I can’t see them being true top tier material either

They are competent tbough, they can hold their own since the highest I mentioned is 14.0 currently, and the 3rd best jet in the game, a case can be made for sweden getting the short end of the stick, but china is in a really good place rn for air, and thats coming from someone with every chinese top tier jet
I still think that a J-10C or something would not go amiss and probably should be here by now.
It is wierd that Gaijin seems to be sitting on those airframes (J-10 upgrades and Gripen NG)

Well I’d definitely prefer it over the A, which feels a bit lacking with 72cms and no AESA, hopefully a new flanker too since they are lighter and more modern than the russian ones (may have activated the swarm with that statement)

Yeah exactly. And I think thats kinda the point.
Mirage 2K is OP because MICA is OP, but the rest, like the J-11B has a bit of a wierd placement from what I recall. I get the desire for something a little better and tbh… China and Sweden should be getting something new and not the US and USSR.
But we’ll have to wait and see for the dev stream tomororw

Those points make the Gripen E a sidegrade to the Typhoon and Rafale at best
The actual advantages that the Gripen E has over the C and potentially over its foreign competition are things that aren’t modelled ingame
I wouldn’t get my hopes up, as far as top tier additions this patch looks really sparse, maybe december will be the one.
Also when can Gaijin crack on with these sales, I have 2 gripens, a TKX, Puma, Namer, 3 helis and some other assorted stuff to buy

It’s a sidegrade to aircraft that probably are going to get overshadowed by better variants in the winter update.
The Gripen E would have to come in this update to be top tier (well, in the top BR sense, if we were talking brackets the Gripen C would be top tier) or Gaijin would have to refrain from adding new variants of the current top tier planes for another update (highly unlikely lol)

Definetley not the E, most likely not the NG either. Both are stronger than the versions of the Typhoon and Rafale that we have, and the only way to balance out the playing field would be by ripping out critical features. The C is all sweden could have received, and even then it’s implementation is underwhelming to say the least…
