Spawn camping philosophy behind map design

Just played my first game on the new map Attica.

First spawn - died with 0 frags because I didn’t know the layout of the map.

Second spawn - rolled up to the choke point in B5/B6 through the empty center and fragged 7 people leaving the spawn and didn’t even get a single critical hit on me because I was in a protected hull down position that also provides cover form CAS from 3 out of 4 directions.

Now I know spawn camping is bad, but the map is LITERALLY RIGGED to be abused this way.

And the problem is - this is the same philosophy that was in the very first maps of the Ground Battles.

  • Karelia - people can shoot from spawn to spawn. Spawn exits can be shot from the center of the map from high ground.

  • Ash River - Southern side has a high ground to shoot people exiting spawn. Complete with cover. People can’t leave spawn without being an easy target for CAS.

  • Poland - Northwest spawn can be camped with the hills providing hull down cover for the opposing side. Southwest spawn can be camped from high ground.

And nothing has changed since then.

  • Why do almost all maps have open spawns without cover?

  • Why do most maps have a choke point tunnel exit. And yes two exits is still a choke point.

  • Why do half the maps provide cover and high ground advantage for the attacking team vs the people exiting the spawns?

  • Why do you keep making maps like this?

Gaijin, your map designers have the wrong, twisted idea of what a good map design for a videogame is. This is not a real life warfare where the enemy has to be killed with the most effectiveness and minimal risk.

PS: And no, red zone won’t fix the issue. I didn’t care the enemy knew I was in that position. I was safe and they were not. They died by the numbers and I didn’t even get critically hit once.

PS2: Come to think of it the maps somewhat remind of me Counter Strike maps. Problem is the game is single spawn with full reset between round.
