Spawn camping on battle of Hurtgen Forest (Conquest #3)

Is it just me, or in any game on this map, the enemy team finds a way to creep around the enemy spawn and manages to kill you? If you start on the right-hand side of the map. The enemy follows the way I’ve roughly marked, and then can spawn camp without showing up on the map at all. Which is just ridiculous. I tried this in a custom game, and you don’t show up on the enemy radar at all. This needs fixing. I just had a game where an enemy Stingray got practically into our spawn, and it didn’t ping up on our radar

Skill issue / Team failure.

Learn the map through replays and up your game.

You really added a lot with this, yup, totally fixed that they can sit there without being detected by the spawn area

In a lot of maps it is possible to sneak up behind the spawn area

Since the spawn area itself is just a circle unless it is manually extended, Imo on the last row of squares of the left and right (in this case) should be spawn area, and in said spawn area you can spawn anywhere, so you can just materialize behind a spawn camper just like that.

I don’t quite understand: As you’re on the Eastern team and know of that possibility, you can just as well take it into your own hand and deny access to that spawn camping area! Control E6:F7 and you protect your team and can work the whole lower right quadrant of the map!

In the RB match I was in, I had the right spawn. The image is from the custom battle map selection screen.

You are also suggesting that A) I can deny the enemy team access to my spawn on my own. B) Also, my team are mentally capable of actually assisting me.

Clearly, you are a spawn camper in your own right to suggest it’s a team issue. because if you weren’t, you wouldn’t be calling out a valid point.

WT does not really offer a handicap or point spread system. Better and experienced players will maximize on an opponent team’s weakness to win - in this case better positioning. With this map you apparently are aware of how the enemy moves but have no desire to work their “ant trail”. Unfortunately many good maps have been nerfed/degraded because of complaints of sniping positions by players that simply press “W” and hope for the best.

Suggest you edit your original post and remove the “Is it just me, …” when simply looking for validation instead of honest feedback. If you find name calling provides some substance to your point, you’ve pretty much lost the"battle".

You (your team) always need to guard flanks. If flank is unguarded someone will always sneak through. It may seem as boring job but someone needs to do it. Also it can be quite rewarding if you manage to sneak through to their flank (not spawn camp) if its not guarded.

They might get 1 kill that way. But after that it’s the spawncamper against any new spawns.
Communicate and gang up on that camper.
Happens on many maps. It’s not like they are picking you off from 1km away.

This is why whenever I fight on this map I almost always go flank either south or north.

This is a direct, head-on, “meeting engagement” kind of map, and like any map that fits that description, it is actively ruled by flanking.

It is sometimes fun to snipe from the (relatively poor) defensive positions either side of the objective, but it’s rarely fruitful. Especially because whoever manages to reach the objective has a big defensive advantage, and can realistically only be evicted by CAS or flanking unless they’re brain dead.
