So, there is no reason that a ww2 tank should fight against t-55’s and other coldwar era tanks. My proposal is that the game should make a “top tier” for ww2 era tanks, like 7.7.
8.0 will be the start of coldwar era tanks and will not fight anybody 7.7 and vise versa.

So 7.7 is the BR for clubbing and 8.0 is to be avoided at all cost? How boring.
In the post ww2 years, many armies had ww2 tanks still in service or bought them. Many conflicts could have seen a mix.

Long overdue, with the clutter of powercreep in the game by now. (reserved for modern spg, rat tanks and heat slingers) Although it should be wider than “ww2” it should incompass post ww2 vehicles aswell, that still fall under “conventional” tank design.

Any hard BR limits are completely bad, and it always leads to one BR being awful, and the other dominating.
However, BR decompression is good.

lol right that would be ridiculous. But seperate trees( split between conventional tanks and the other) would not do that
In case separate trees are created, I wish the Swedish players good luck, because they will be facing exclusively… Swedes (and maybe a Concept 3 or a PT-76 at times).

No, unfortunately, that’s impossible. The first two (or even three) ranks of the “Cold War” tree could never be filled for nations other than Sweden. The way that country’s early tanks were developed makes them impossible to face threats other than World War II tanks. If you had to fill the other trees with equivalents, they would only be jeeps with 12.7s on the roof or modern IFVs with just a small cannon, and even then, those have penetrations that would make the game unplayable.
Separating eras is impossible for tank mode, just as it is for airplane mode; each tank was designed with specific objectives in mind and is balanced according to its own capabilities.
In itself, I don’t even see the problem with the current balance, the tanks that date from after the Second World War but which face tanks from this era are not famous, they are all tanks easy to face.
Lesser of two evils I would say. I hope the state of the game is not irreversible and that Gaijin can and will change things around.
With all the latest howiter caliber spgs added to the game lately with faster reloads than 122 mms on most tanks and SPGs, no I disagree. The powercreep is strong with the latest vehicels. Not to mention yet another rat+heat slinger (the current even vehicles) comming to 7.3. Good luck all the 6.7 enjoyers that are left, after all this abuse.
I agree that some of the latest artillery are poorly balanced but it’s not a generalization, I don’t see anyone complaining about the placement of the M109, the G6 or the AUF1. There are really only two or three vehicles that pose problems (the 2S19M (and even then), the PzH 2000 (but which almost only faces the Cold War) and the K9 Vidar)
Dont get me started on that thing lol ;) M109 is a case and point about the “howitzer spgs” with faster reload than all tanks with the AT 122 mm gun. That obviously includes tanks of other trees in the similar situation as the ones with the AT 122 mm gun. I will just do a shameless self-input here. Excuse me ;) 122mm (D-25T) needs a buff in reload rate
And this would just make all 7.7s permanent meta and resukt in all 8.0s to be DOA
Long ago we had events that would only allow vehicles of certain battles to be present. I forgot the name of these events.
They were historically nice, but it was often hard to get a lobby filled, because one side was often preferable to the other.
It might be possible to create such ww2 / korea / near east etc. events now if allowing for more balance. The question remains if players would accpt these, as access would often be limited to higher BRs.
There is no need for an artificial blackhole/top tier created below 14.0. It creates far too many issues. If you place a BR wall at 7.7 it will still include a shit ton of non-ww2 vehicles and besides that it will make all BRs from 6.7-7.3 basically pointless (infinite uptiers) and same with BRs 8.0-8.3 because they cant see downtiers anymore
