Explain this then.
I’ve also had plane bombs explode and damage me from being too close as the attacker.
Note: This only happens IF and ONLY IF the enemy still has bombs. If they drop the bombs shots to the bomb bay are effectively harmless except maybe for cutting off tail from a very, very, very concentrated stream of early war .50 cals.

I bug reported White Rock fortress back in the day and the map got removed not long after that 🥲

AGM65D is IR guided munition in both game and real life and you can use it very well during night operations.
Check your sources properly.
I don’t have a good explanation. However, i just had a friend load up a custom game last night to test and we were unable to shoot suspended ammo off a wing in RB. I was using the 12x .50 B25 for volume of concentrated fire and every single time it just knocked the wing off. We tried with a P47, F80, and PE-8. We tried half a dozen times with the PE-8 since thats such a big target and such an obvious explosion.
Maybe they implimented it for bomb bays only? We didn’t try internal bay bombers.
However, this isn’t using bomb detonation mechanics. At that range, you would 100% take damage. Try assault fusing a bomb that close and you are dead. I’m wondering if that was a fuel tank explosion. Looks like the same thing as a T55 or T72 frontal fuel tank going off.
Do dropped bombs give a kill reading in the kill log for SB? I don’t play so i don’t know.
As said, it only happens if the target has bombs inside them AND there’s no fuel tanks where I was shooting.
I was about 300 meters away when it exploded (judging from gun convergence still converging on fuselage but not crossing).

1 frame before the explosion. Notice: fuselage impacts.

Fuel tank position
Removing spawn prot would be an improvement. That’s just simply a fact. Would it be the best solution? No, but it’s better than what we have right now.
An improvement would be reducing it to 10 or 5 seconds. No spawn protection is not fair to anyone. It gives you no time to react at all.
Players need to manuver. Tanks can just sit there and stare at spawn, but planes can only be in a position to attack for a short amount of time, at a time.
Also, all this can be solved by simply spawning SPAA earlier in the match, instead of just rageswitching to SPAA after getting bombed.
Reducing the length to 5 seconds, as you suggest, would prolly be fine.
I know. I have been shot down many times by SPPA that just appears as soon as I decide to line up on a target.
Yes it can. But people usually don’t spawn in spaa as first choice. I don’t. And if I play for 5 minutes and die (even to a tank) and there is like 5 enemy planes up I will spawn SPAA or CAP. In that case your suggestion would make me unfairly killable the moment I appear on the map. And you cannot in good faith say that is rage spawning SPAA.
If there’s already 5 enemy planes up, and you don’t have SP for CAP, that’s kinda your fault. There’s no reason to expect a single 70sp SPAA to hold an advantage over 5 600sp vehicles.

It depends on ghe situation honestly. If we are doing well on ground I spawn CAP. If not I spawn SPAA and try to go cap or decap points.
No but it’s sure as hell got way more of a fighting chance than just spawning in another tank which cannot engage tohse planes at all. And we all know how useless most players are in SPAA I prefer trying to shoot down the planes myself.
Also not having SP for CAP can happen. The whole enemy team goes on one flank and steamrolls while you are alone on the other flank and don’t have targets to engage. Had it happen a few times. Or you just get unlucky and a sneaky enemy gets the first shot off and then you lose the iniative and position.
Counterpoint: I don’t want to fly planes in ARB or GRB. If I want to fly planes, i go and fly them in the ideal plane mode: Air simulator battles.
Reasons to NOT fly in ARB:
- 25 minute match timer
- Objective design funnels everyone into a narrow band leading to large furballs
- Mouse aim control not as fun, but flying stick & throttle is disadvantaged against mouse aim.
- Markers weaken certain maneuvers.
- Instructor hinders the aircraft I like quite a bit.
Reason to NOT fly in GRB:
- 25 minute match timer, often with ticketbleed ending at just 10-12 minutes in on certain maps.
- The airfields are way too close to the battlefield, allowing losing enemies to run into AI SPAA cover.
- Planes spawn mid-air, allowing them to interrupt ongoing dogfights with no way to predict or react.
- The airfields are so close that even if your opponent doesn’t run, there’s a good chance that you get hit by AI AAA for simply doing an unloaded extension to reset the fight.
- Mouse aim control not as fun, but flying stick & throttle is disadvantaged against mouse aim.
- Instructor hinders the aircraft I like quite a bit.
- Third person camera without markers is better, but still weakens certain maneuvers.
Meanwhile ASB:
- Up to 3 hour long match. Ticket bleed usually ends it around 90 minutes in.
- 64 x 64 play area with widespread objectives allowing planes to disperse and dilute furballs.
- Lack of markers outside of blue tags for friendlies under 700m further dilute furballs AND massively boost the viability of aircraft I like.
- Everyone is on equal ground with stick & rudder control. No instructor, no mouse aim.
- Cockpit view enables certain defensive maneuvers by virtue of people being blind under their nose.
- No instructor means Mustangs, 109s, Hellcats and Corsairs fly to their limit.
Why would anyone want to fly ARB/GRB with the above contrast?
GRB exists because I can’t fly a tiger or sherman or T-34 in ASB (although arguably the chinese P-38/P-40/P-51 could be called “flying tigers”) and GSB has a broken queue system.
Then it sounds like WT just wasn’t designed for you.
Nice work projecting your own desires onto others.
Yeah, nah. At this point, damage relies on RNG even heavier than WoT does.
Combined arms is, and always will be Warthunder’s main attraction. Damage (aswell as customization) is just what they use for marketing.
Calling Warthunder’s tanks realistic is a joke. Literally every single aspect of driving a tank has been neutered by Gajin.
Again, there’s plenty of games that have actually realistic tanks, commandable by singular players. Warthunder isn’t special in that regard. Warthunder is special in being combined arms.
well. i had some brain isuse XD.happends. when u boxing 20 year and losing 2 iq per punch in face D. at last if we calculate negative iq i can have it most. being best inn someting steel means someting D

No worries man mistakes happens from time to time :)
That is what you think. Personally for me the draw always was the realistic (debatable) damage model. I could not care less if all planes get removed tomorwov.
Okay then provide an example of such a game
That is what Gajin thinks, that is how Gajin designed the game, that is how Gajin advertises the game.
GHPC and WoT are the first that come to mind. You should research other games first before trying to make Warthunder a different game.
I can agree on GHPC but that game does not have WW2 tanks and also has quite a slim selection of specific tanks.
Don’t make me laugh mentioning WOT. nothing in that game is realistic at all and you said this.

Those look more like your personal opinions on the gamemodes than an objective standpoint.
