Russia literally has some absolutely great gun SPAAs that can absolutely shred tanks. They’re just not as mobile as the 35mm ones.
with the exception of the ZSU-57-2 and the 2S38 none of them have an APHE round like the Gepards, and the Gepards 35mm has almost twice the explosive filler of those 57mm.
And this threads OP is complaining about ALL SPAAGs so I’m not sure where it’s turned into another USSR/NATO slap fight over whos auto cannons are slightly more or less OP.
That isn’t up for debate. Even the 2S6 can overwhelm Leopard 2A4 with sheer volume of fire. But to try single them out as OP or Russian bias, is absurd. Britain is in a better place if you wanna kill tanks with SPAA. Germany has 341/Gepard, etc. USA has the damn XM246, which can tank shells like no other. This is one area where it isn’t some silly Soviet/Russian bias.
Comparing Shilka to the likes of Gepard or XM246 when it comes to AT duties is just plain silly.
It’s actually one of the worst AAs you can find at that 8.0 - 8.3.
Having only 50mm of pen severely limits the angles it can engage targets from, even less armored ones like the Leopard.
I mean, most things are worlds better than ZSU-57-2 when it comes to shooting planes. That thing could literally be at 3.0 if it had less pen on it’s AP belt.
Can’t you see bro, this thing is mega OP and problematic, even though it’s one of the shittiest vehicle of it’s kind at that range.

D-d-don’t look at this one bro, it’s extremely high stats are explained by the UK tax since we’re much better players. Also, please ignore how this tax doesn’t apply to our second 8.3 SPAA, which is Chieftain Marksman.
