SPAA should never be preferred to be used as anti-tank rather than anti-air

Incorrect on both counts.

I just don’t think taking the AP belts away from SPAA’s is a good solution to the problem.

I mean IFVs are no different from SPAA, they are just as annoying spamming their autocannons…by that logic or idea, have to remove IFVs AP rounds as well…

It’s not a good idea to remove AP rounds on SPAA. Regardless how players decide to use them.

I mean, pretty much all of the old British SPAA’s went up because of this:

  • Staghound AA was 1.7 (now 2.0)
  • AEC AA was 2.7 (now 3.3)
  • Crusader AA Mk II was 3.7 (now 4.0)
  • Skink was 4.7 (now 5.3)
  • Falcon was 7.7 (now 8.3)

Also being enclosed, because for some reason Gaijin don’t like the fact they’re harder to strafe.

So you’re just going to conveniently ignore the fact that the maps are fishbowls and that there’s almost nowhere for SPAA to go without a guaranteed risk of dying very quickly outside of spawn? And that even the spawn isn’t safe due to many maps having open spawn zones that enable spawn sniping?

What about if that SPAA is out of missiles and the ammo box but has a gun? What, it can’t try to move to a point to rearm with some ability to defend itself? What about the SPAA that picked a decent spot but is getting pushed by enemy tanks after the support all died? What, that player is just supposed to give up and J out or accept death?

What an absolute bloody braindead argument. Let’s just remove AP belts from IFVs while we’re at it. They’re the same thing, after all. Hell, even high tier IFVs can also lock onto low flying aircraft and blast it out of the sky.

Now look here, yes it’s a nuisance when a SPAA chooses an IFV playstyle instead of a SPAA playstyle but bear in mind that when that SPAA dies that player loses that SPAA without using a back-up, and if he up and loses his SPAA before CAS rolls in then he just handicapped himself because of his choice. HOWEVER, as annoying as it is your annoyance DOES NOT justify cutting the knees off of an already disadvantaged enough class of vehicles. Are you forgetting that aircraft kill rewards for SPAA are still less compared to tank kills? Are you forgetting that the large majority of their AP belts have lower pen values ontop of many SPAA having more limited access to AP/APDS belts in terms of what they can deploy with?

Hell, the Falcon got its AP ammo belts neutered for example. Good luck fighting T-Series tanks that push you with those pen values. Not to mention many SPAA across many nations got their AP belts pen values nerfed not because of accurate sources but because of people whining.

With the absolute foolish argument you’re making you might aswell just say you want people to stop playing Gun SPAA. You don’t moan like this when an IFV kills you, do you? If you don’t, then stop moaning about SPAA.

This is not the Hill to die on, dude. Seriously.

meh, I’d rather hunt tanks in a Falcon or DCA, than to join in on the mindless MBT spam.

We need vehicles like the Falcon to punish people that play it safe by playing ‘main battle tanks’.

Though, I’m not someone who just puts his radar down (on SPAA that have it) and ignores the air entirely.
