SPAA Parity at Top Tier

So the new Pantsir is an… interesting addition to the game. It provides an unparalleled combination of munition interception, close in engagement with guns, and hypersonic minimal reaction time SAM. I don’t personally think this was needed at this time but if we are going to further improve SPAA capabilities at top tier, we should do it fairly for every nation at the same time (not waiting over 2 years this time PLEASE).

I have heard it said over and over that Russia just invested more in AA so it only makes sense that they have the best in game. This just isn’t quite true. I don’t know the doctrinal reasons, but Russia makes All-in-One systems to integrate into their air defense which makes them easy to add to the game while western countries tend to divide roles amongst systems but still achieves parity in the robustness of their air defense measures.

With this in mind, if Russia is going to get an all-in-one system, western countries should have capabilities added to shore up the gaps in their capabilities. I propose that this could be done by giving western SAM systems the ability to spawn a short-range, static gun emplacement that would be integrated in their air defense in real life. For example, CLAWS could spawn a C-RAM and IRIS-T could spawn a Sky Ranger. These would need to have balancing limitations of course but this would provide parity in SPAA capabilities.

I don’t have the time to extensively research this topic but I just had this idea and wanted to float it out there for discussion. If it gains traction then maybe it could be further explored in detail.

So, would this mean using SP to spawn a weapon emplacement that you could place on the large map (beyond the battlefield with a border line dividing the map in half that would stop players from placing the weapon emplacement on the enemy side of the map) that could be AI-controlled and provide a sort of “circle” of defense that would attempt to shoot down any enemies that come within the “circle.” If not, then I lack to analytical capacity to understand but :P

I was thinking you would spawn the gun next to your vehicle providing additional AA cover where your SAM is already providing long range cover. It would still be damage able just like you yourself are.

I don’t think I have the analytical capability to understand the point of spawning from the map view away from the battlefield.

Ah I see
I was also thinking of spawning an AI controled SAM some distance away from the battlefield that would target aircraft that are within its range, giving some additional SPAA to dodge from, but yeah I like your idea too.

Yeah, my thought was that it would just be an additional vehicle you would be in control of. It would add the capability that the Pantsir currently has of interception and close range defense while allowing you to use your missiles still for long range CAS engagement.
