helis can basically notch ARH missiles by doing nothing its pretty stupid. especially when those rotors should light up PD radars real nice

Tell me example of Cas and the spaa it faces at the same br.

Its pretty easy to use cas in spaa enviroments. With missile spaas you already have like IR bombs or agm65

I just experienced it again. I recently bought the Mi-24D, BR 8.7, and after the latest SPAA patch the situation is completely broken.

In every match there are 3–4 SPAA vehicles active. Realistic engagement range is about 3 km. I have only four ATGMs, and their guidance is awful — slow response, unstable control, extremely hard to guide properly against SPAA.

Now look at the reality:

  • I am one helicopter.
  • There are four SPAA units.
  • All four are firing at me simultaneously.
  • I can guide only one missile at a time.

Try to win that fight. Try to destroy four SPAA vehicles while all of them are shooting at you nonstop, and you are alone.

So tell me where is the fairness here?

This is not a skill issue. This is not balance. This is raw numerical and mechanical suppression.

At this point, I am convinced the developers do not play their own game, or simply do not care about helicopter and aviation players. Because if this scenario were actually tested in real matches, it would never pass as acceptable balance.

DIRCM has been around for a while but the function was updated in Tusk Force, essentially LDIRCM creates a forcefield around your helicopter that deflects IR missiles and idk what DIRCM on the Ka-52 does these days

and what is the fairness in a match where i am alone in gun spaa at 8.7 and there are 2-3 helicopters firing atgms at me and i can’t even hit one helicopter as they can easily dodge all of my shots

Uhmm your missile has 4km max range.

Just notch from left and then notch right, the spaa ammunition cannons take enough time for you to dodge them.

Also dont get closer or obviusly the bullets will reach you sooner.

Anyway you picked the worse heli to play, mi24 its a brick and the missiles well, average for that br

That distance is measured from the moment of launch, not from a hover at zero speed.
At the end of the missile flight you get ~3 km effective range, assuming you had forward speed at launch.

Nobody fires ATGMs from a zero-speed hover at 4 km. That’s not how helicopters are played in real matches. You launch while moving, and by the time the missile reaches the target, the real engagement distance is already shorter.

If you think helicopters are firing from a stationary hover at 4 km, then you clearly don’t have real helicopter experience. That assumption alone shows a lack of understanding of heli gameplay and missile kinematics.

Well arent they all just DIRCM like on the hind they jsut have different bands but maybe I think Laser should have actually like a response time and not be a permanent in all directions like would be weird if it could send a targeted laser in all directions all at once all the time?

Uhmm well you are supossed to hover while guiding the missile, or you will get too close on the spaa range.

Funny you say that when I have all german and israel helicopters unlocked, without premiums.

Not exactly, in fact I’m not sure if the early IRCM jammer units on the Mi-24s/AH-1F/W even function at the moment

It should have a response time and only work against 1 missile at a time per LDIRCM unit (if the missile is in an area of the LDIRCMs FoV), but in game it works exactly as you describe.

they seem to only work from rear hemisphere atleast agaisnt stingers they do work pretty sure unless gaijin fumbled something since I played the ozelot

Pretty sure you wont find any support here because majority of grb players dont even use any planes. So they have no idea how it feels to fight in stuff like a4e against osa (or even 2s6 in 10_2 sim), especially with clouds and on urban/forest map. Its easy to call cas unfair when you never tried it.

I know exactly who my target is in this discussion — the developers.

I understand that the majority of players do not play aviation or helicopters. Most people argue from the ground-only perspective. That is precisely why I am writing this. I don’t want to stay silent anymore. I want the developers to know that there are players who will resist this direction and will continue to give feedback.

Because what is happening right now to aviation and helicopters is very bad and clearly going in the wrong direction.

If only ground players give feedback, then developers will hear only ground players. Right now, most of the feedback comes from people who play tanks only, complain about CAS, and that becomes the dominant narrative. Aviation players are underrepresented, so their experience is ignored.

That is why I expressed my opinion. My goal is simple: to make sure my voice reaches the developers and to show that not everyone agrees with the current balance direction.

I hope more aviation and helicopter players will stop staying on the sidelines and start giving feedback as well. Aviation is a core class in this game, I love playing it, and I don’t want to see it slowly destroyed while being told that this is “balance.”

The issue is that if you act for minority in business you likely lose your business. Thats how things work in our world. This was confirmed by bvvd himself, he stated that they are aware of cas “problem” and are trying to solve this actively. Also they want spaa available for all players no matter their performance in a battle. So called last chance. And those words were confirmed by their actions - here your clouds, here your cas sp nerf, here your irist, buk, mamba, even gelandwagen(!) and here your free spaa spawn aside from free tank (except free stock tank is useless and spaa either has already best missiles available (pantsir) or still solid stock ones (2s6)).
