SPAA at 9.3-10.3 is hilariously OP and i see no one talking about it

Wrong.

In this range it’s actually just about right, except for the issues with IR signature modeling and IR counter measure rejection….

Gepards and ZSUs should not be fighting early jets with no ballistic computers or guided weapons. America, for example, only even has 2 vehicles even slightly competent against em. F-84B-26 and F-84F. F-84B-26 only gets 2 bombs with rather poor flight characteristics, and F-84F has 4 extremely weak bombs with even worse flight characteristics. They’re the only 2 American planes at that BR with CCRP.

Then don’t take a 7.0 GRB airplane to face off with a 8.3 SPAA…

By the end of WW2, radar guided AA guns were becoming extremely common. They were prevalent during both Korea and Vietnam.

If anything, we should get a lead computing / gyro gunsight for the non radar SPAA guns.

XD F-84B-26 works better than F-84F. Imo F-84F should be moved to 7.7 and buffed. Regardless, this doesn’t address the issue of Gepard and ZSU being OP. Giving non-radar SPAAs aim assist only makes SPAA even more braindead to play, and worsens the problem.

Neither is OP. The only gun based SPAA in the 8.3-10.3 range you could really make a good argument that it is OP is the M247

And I didn’t say aim assist I said lead computing gunsights. Which all ground guns have had since the 1940’s.

There really is no valid argument against it, given that at almost every BR the field is slanted against SPAA/AD.

Every counter argument comes down to bad CAS players tying to keep SPAA from making them have to learn actual strategy to counter them.

M247 is at a BR where it faces basically no CAS, and the little it does face has guided weapons. It’s actual SPAA capabilities are pretty on-par with Gepard and ZSU, the only difference is it has quite literally 0 anti-tank capabilities.

Lead indicator, aim assist, what’s the difference? both a crutch for bad players.

Got that reversed. The issue is noob SPAA players who sit exactly where they spawned whole game, shoot at enemies outside they’re range, miss every shot, then complain that CAS is OP.

🤣🤣🤣

That’s a lot of wrong in one post.

It’s hilarious to argue that the issue is noob SPAA players and that SPAA is OP when the forums are inundated with posts about the CAS imbalance.

Almost like you’re doing exactly what I said….

Cas os incredobly powerfull, they need some form of hard counter to it.

It’s called SPAA players that aren’t trash.

You got 2 kills per span at the very least, eurviving after the two walleys isnt hard as they have a decent bit of range

Pretty much every single part of this is wrong.

The M247 is 9.0, AKA right below the 9.3 bracket in the OP. It fights plenty of vehicles with and without guided weaponry.

It’s SPAA capability are far beyond the Gepard and Shilka (and arguably beyond early missile based SPAAs too) due to tracerless proxy rounds. It’s able to easily and consisently engage even manuevering aircraft, something that’s entirely beyond the Gepard (and analogues), let alone the Shilka.

The only part you got right is the lack of AT weaponry.

lol, because airplanes don’t have F&F munitions, multi spectral targeting, gyro stabilized targeting pods, gyro gunsights and CCRP/CCIP 🤣

If a lead computing gunsight is too much of a crutch, CAS has a lot of toys that need to go back into the toy box.

M247 on par with gepard? Lmao, m247 is a freaking no flight zone enforce by 40mm, its such a strong aa. And tbh theres alot of cas in my matches with it

Even at that, I kill a surprising number of tanks with the 247. Just can’t kill them from the front.

I mean, you can do it, I just wouldn’t call it consisent. About on par with the Shilka, come to think of it.

It can kill tams and leopsrd frontslly if youre lucky

Absolutely a good comparison

2 kills at most and if you’re lucky. If the SPAA player isn’t braindead, and actually moves or stays behind cover until a plane is within range, then Walleyes are useless.

The only reason Walleyes get kills is bc most SPAA mains suck.

Where’s this “plenty of vehicles”? I’m seeing 2-3 enemy planes a game at 9.0.

All this means is it’s effective range is a lil further, not to mention its anti-tank capability is non-existent which is a massive downside.

Rank 1-4 planes have FnF missiles and CCIP? why’d no1 tell me?

Unfortunately there is no other ways to play it, either you let them know you exist to bait them into flying into your weapon effective range, or you sit still for the entire match with no action, or drive around and becoming a free meal for enemy mbts to become a cannon fodder and drain your team’s ticket lol but its stupid either way if the CAS is out of your weapon range, you just cannot do anything useful.

If CAS is out of your range, then they’re out of range to take out your teammates.
