I started noticing that Soviet tanks were simply ignoring my shells. Often, the shells would simply disappear into the armor or inflict no significant damage.
Soviet tanks have very few weak points. For example, one of these is the space between the turrets, but it’s become almost impossible to hit; a shell can simply disappear into a hatch cover or some other component.
Spoiler
Often, when a shell penetrates armor, it may not cause any significant damage at all. Or it may simply paint the parts yellow.

Naturally, with such a lack of damage, the Soviet tank will simply destroy you in silhouette.
Dam you must be the unluckiest person alive. Technically you need to shoot below the turret for side shots to ammo rack, or lower chasis plate for frontal shots.
But those shots doing almost nothing its very rare, except the neck ones, thats very common.
Try to upload the video in bug reports, or your shell its buged, or the soviet tank its overperforming.
One thing that you have to adjust for when shooting at russian MBTs is that its safer to go for ammo than for crew.
On a side profile shoot very low, lower than you normally would, trust me it gives way more consistent results.
Head on, never go for the turret ring, sometimes even the driver port is iffy. Since you are playing the Abrams your shell has a very good mass and you can one shot them by penning the turret roof. Also takes out the breach.
Russian MBTs arent all that good, one just has to get used to them.
I haven’t closely checked the T series armor in a while but if I remember well enough their entire lower front plate is a weak spot, a guaranteed kill outside divine intervention
Also you only have US tanks. If you had other nations you’d see its not just issue with T-series. And if you had T-series you’d know they are very mediocre tanks.
