Soviet era MBTs autoloaders not exploding when hit

May be hard to believe but Leclercs’, Type 90s’ and Type 10s’ autoloader tend to absorb spall just like a T-72s’ or T-80s’ does. There are noticeable instances where I could survive shots directly into the bustle, even though I was loading chemical warhead ammunition.

its alot less of an issue with those tanks since their armor is already weak enough that you dont really need to aim your shots, while the T-series though, only have one weakspot; the LFP, which if you dont det the ammo and shoot a milimeter too low then the turret works perfectly fine and their FCS is still operational

Consistently inconsistent, Gaijin’s modus operandi.

Wrong hit a T-34 and the fuel tanks on the early variants sometimes dont explode when directly hit.

I meant ammunition being stowed in the autoloader my bad

Those are not internal fuel tanks. They are sandwiched between internal steel and external steel.

Soviet Auto loaders usually do explode throwing the turret in the air when you actually land a hit that penetrates to the autoloader

it should at least destroy the rounds inside the autoloader even if there’s inert munition and force the manual reloading process upon repair, in real life i dont think it would be possible to save the projectiles that were already there as these would have been deformed by the impact or molten jet of metal from the incoming enemy round specially if it was struck by atgm or a succesful heatfs
