There is this caster that talks about 8.7 Russia br. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwiWkKUAFOs) Great videos i enjoyed it, but I think there is a counter to Soviet 8.7br. How about Israel 8.7 with Lahatut heli as support. I have had great games using the Magachs and new Tiran in combination with the Lahatut heli.
I think it is the counter to the Soviet 8.7 br, what do you guys think?
I’ve been playing 8.7 Israel a LOT lately, and I personally brought out the Lahatut and bought the Tow mod just for this lineup. The only thing it’s missing is a decent 8.7 SPAA, which can be remedied by adding the Magach Marksman in the future, but for now the ZSU-23-4 works just fine I guess.
To say the least I’ve been having a blast with 8.7 Israel, and the new Tiran 6 is quite great, however the lack of a range finding device or ERA (there is a “variant” with Blazer ERA, and also another 105mm Sharir variant that also had ERA) leaves much to be desired. The Magachs at 8.7 are also nice, even though they lack thermals and a Laser Rangefinder, but the rangefinder mod is quite helpful. However my personal favorite is the Sho’t Kal Gimel, with its Laser rangefinder.
The M111 APFSDS is also reeeeally potent, and I absolutely adore its angle pen. One of my personal favorite low tier APFSDS rounds. The Tiran 6’s APFSDS round, the 3BM3 is quite good as well (don’t use 3BM4, it has worse angle pen and post pen damage).
Not to mention stabilizers are a much welcome addition. Uptiers are also quite rare, and the worse thing you’ll face will usually be TAMs, but you’ll cleave right through them.
Conclusion: 8.7 Israel is so fun rn, you really gotta try it when you can man. Easy counter to Russian 8.7, as the worst thing I’ve had thrown at me was the T-72A which can be ammo racked through the LFP so easily.
Very true, tams and in particular the Tam 2ip is the one that I have problems with. Otherwise it has been a blast, the cherry on the cake is the Lahatut for me. Its small has fantastic zoom and 4 Tow 800mm pen missiles, in one game I was able to get 7frags ( first version of Tow 600mm pen)with it fly in, hold stedy and re-arm.
Gepards and the Swedish version are your main counters, sometimes you get the Shilka with Igla missiles but thats rear.
Ahh based on your foto, Israel also has a Gepard of its own, perhaps this can be implemented (suggestion to developers) in the next patch?
Someone would need to make a suggestion, and afaik we only have this photo to go off of. Fingers crossed tho lol.
Are there some online documents about it, has it been implemented by the IDF? Even based on this foto we can see that it exists in some form. It would not be overpowering since they can then keep it similar to the Gepard in performance.
Couldn’t find much myself that other haven’t already found. Feel free to look around and see if you can come across any primary or secondary sources pertaining to its existence (presumably as a testbed).
Play better 8.7 lineups.
