ZTZ-96A sits at the same 10.3 while being superior.
And there are a number of superior 10.7s as well.
So if T-80UD is “OP” then so are many 10.3 and 10.7s, not just T-80UD.

T-80UD’s BR doesn’t impact me. I’m never going to own it, and I know the weakspots. So on a personal level it doesn’t impact my play. I can only do my best to analyze its capabilities and understand other peoples’ experiences.
Russian ground 9.7 and above has been overpowered for a while. But people in this community go muh reverse speed and gun depression and overlook how insane the discrepancy in armor and firepower (and spaa capability) compared to every other nation, now it took yet another OP premium for them to start to realize…
The T-80UD has identical mobility to the T-90 which is by no means a slow tank. It lacks thermals sure but that is hardly a huge negative in 10.3/10.7 as most vehicles get thermals of pretty poor quality. The T-80UD is in a br bracket where 105mm cannons are still very prevalent. These cannons are a LOT more unreliable than the 125mm with 3BM42. The armor of the T-80UD is better than other tech tree equivalents for russia at that br while having higher hp engine. It should by all means be 10.7
The T-72B is literally the T-80UD with a worse reload and lower hp/t and its the same br as the T-80UD.
6.5s reload in 10.3 is pretty damn strong with that armor, mobility and gun.

The T-80UD has better mobility than the ZTZ96A by a long shot. 1000hp and 60 km/h top vs. 800 hp with 59 km/h top. Yes ammo is the same and the 96A does get thermals (also worse armor).
Yo this isnt true at all. Ariete P mobility is worse than Abrams and 2A4, and obviously has worse armor. It gets DM33 to compensate (honestly it is a good vehicle for me, but I doubt it would be for you). Ariete P is also at 10.7
Cant argue with the mobility, but also gen 1 thermals isnt really a buff. Additionally T-80U armor on the UD should compensate and make them both 10.7

I am basing all my experience on the T-80UD/BE, which is the exact same as the UD but at 10.7 and with thermals.
In my opinion the T-80UD/BE should go to 11.0 (or 11.3 with proper model and 1200hp engine and Pakistani ammunition, this I would much prefer)

The only reason the UD is at 10.3 is because it is a premium vehicle and the people who buy it suck at the game, thus bringing down the stats. If you use it properly it is basically a top tier tank at 10.3 but with BM42 (which honestly you can use at 11.7) and the speed of a T-64AM. This thing needs to go up in BR ASAP.
As for the original post, you will just have to wait for the BMPTs to go up in BR. It will happen maybe next update or next time they do BR changes. As for the general situation regarding Soviet 10.3, it has always been slightly overpowered, but except for the T-80UD and the BMPTs I don’t think that it is game breaking. I find it perfectly easy to counter (T-72s are the easiest tanks to counter if you know what you are doing), the only ‘hard’ tank to deal with is maybe the 2S38, but it’s not even difficult to counter, just annoying. As for the T-72AV, that shit should go to 10.0 or even 9.7
