I like it, but Stalin’s dream ships were dreams for a reason, technologically the ships were doable, just not for Russia, but to get such insane features, the ship also sacrificed structural integrity. One aspect of this was that it was speculated that they may have cracked in half upon launch. Armour would aid this, however using Face-hardened instead of cemented would further exacerbate the issue. Idk I like it, but I don’t think this one quite makes it all the way into reality for me.

It’s more like if you planned to convert a container ship into an arsenal ship and then never added any of the VLS or radars etc… sovetsky had no real combat-components of the ships installed.

Idk it just pains me that Russia will have this phenomenal ship, because people were too afraid to tell stalin it wouldn’t work. Like had the ship have been completed, then launched and cracked in half upon launch… would it even have been introduced?

I think if all nations were getting something comparable (that we know of) and for example the US got Montana, the UK G3 16.5", Italy littorio UP.41, and France alsace, i’d be a bit happier.

Yes I forgot H-39. Good catch. Bismarck may struggle also like Vanguard but at least her armour will hold up.

The attention naval needs is in regards to fundamental issues with it’s design, not bigger and bigger boats.

Make a working gamemode first, then players will come. Not the other way around.

That’s Littorio UP.41. It’s very much paper, but I think for Italy and France the laid-down rule should be waived.

It was a design from Italy for the Soviets though the Soviets would choose their own Sovetsky Soyuz design and steal the Italian Pugliese design.

Basically it’s a Littorio with 16" guns, they’d probably be very high penetration guns given the Italian 15" was insane.

The problem is that even more people have stopped playing naval throught last couple of years. I am one of them who enjoyed so much playing naval, but I don’t play anymore. The fictional super powerful Kronshtadt at that time, after other disapoitment decisions by developers and introduction top tier US ships which serve as practice targets, was the end of naval gameplay for me.
And when I see this Sovetsky Sojuz ship I can only laugh. I will still play naval only to get Bismarck and Yamato when they comme and thats it.
I just take my ships to test drive and enjoy looking them. Because I love war ships more then anything in game and have them almost all in USA, Japan, Germany and British Tech tree
And once upon a time when coastal and bluewater ships were not separated, and a year or two after that, this game was a real pleasure to play and full of players.

There’s a sketch, you’d lose the great Pugliese system anti torpedo defence, but that was hotly debated in effectiveness and the system they used was already good enough.

What did you expect? Air and ground are matured. Naval is still at 7.0 [7.7 - 8.0 post-decompression].
It’s naval focuses for a while. ;)

If GJ proceeds with making it a single plate of cemented armor @ 420mm, this would need to be bug-reported. Laid down ships are fair game, but technical inability to make good armor isn’t.

Let’s remove the R2Y2’s for being paper, then add an equally paper ship into the game (this ship wasnt built)

The ship was laid down though, was partially built and the plans were approved. While losing the r2y2s sucked, they never got to a partially built state. At least the Thai subtree can give replacements.

You mean copy paste that yields no benefit?

Various other stuff was laid and even made it to mockup like the Koelian 341, Ho-Ri and R2Y2 (v1), yet they chose to remove some of it

I’m all welcome for prototype/half built stuff but PLEASE be consistant. Currently they are extremely inconsistant with what they add n remove based on “historical”
