Sovetsky Soyuz is blatantly Overpowered

Note how the armor plates were missing and how it basically still looked like that in the cold war

Oh my god what a joke, they actually buffed it 💀

I mean… the yamato was built, so by gaijins logic this is 100% meeting requirements to be added. There’s even many detailed drawings of it

That is german aircraft reconnaissance photo at 1941.

Well once I did when old forum exist, but no enthusiasm to do that again.
But at least can find anytime where something needed.

Of course, the only downside to this work is that there are many modifications of the Pr-23, and there are also battleships of Project 24 (1950)

Yes. And they never got much further

At least current one we have in game is abomination of 1939 version’s overall hull and 1936’s torpedo protection system and number of rudder.

Yeah, after some quick calculations, I guess it has at least 80,000 tons of displacement, which is just ridiculous.

While I don’t agree with bigger maps, that has been my experience too. In fact, I got taken out in my Yamato by a 6.x battleship I forgot the name.

And you got this on 5.3 setup now where you can’t evet shot at enemies first 10 minutes if you pick moffet while dodging team of heavy cruisers and BBs totaly worth it(no).

wait until you try ussr mid tier…

so it can finaly be lowerd to 8.3 or lower??

Why should be?
After the correction is still overpowered, but not insanely biased.

  • one ammo need TNT correction → apcbc 25.7 kg tnt
  • more shell dispersion at long range, worse accuracy
  • weaker armor for the over 230 mm plates
  • corrected ammo storages

If those are corrected, its still a very op ship at 8.7. But not biased op one.

it can’t be useful anymore if the accuracy is very low. I am not sure about the armor however I am assuming it basically gonna be same as an battlecrusier and I am very sure someone said it reload time shall be corrected to 120s per shot…

Honestly, I think the best short-term solution for nerfing its armour would be to change the thick armour plates from Rolled Cemented Armour to Hardened Armour, as the in-game modifiers for this armour world reduce the ships effective armour to be more on par with Iowa, Yamato and Bismarck whilst, additionally, representing the lower quality this things armour would have had, had it actually have been built to specs.

I don’t play that kind of ships…but this is something i don’t really like in game.
Having prototype or otherwise ahistorical being dominant and better than real vehicles is annoying at least…

I do play MAUS and have fun playing it…but it is not matched against WW2 tanks, so not so bad…but ahistorical nonetheless…

I am assuming they made its armor too strong and unrealistic…

Well all those 400 mm plates were planed to be cast. Soviets were incapable of hardening such huge thick plates.

Yeah even though i don’t play the soyuz myself (yet) and didnt play the russian tech tree (yet) the other ships, even the at first op kronshtadt fell quite balanced atm. But from every mention on the forums and facing it in the japanese 8.0 ships (amagi and mutsu) it seems its just way overtuned, basically every single stat that is important and a deciding factor for top tier naval gameplay it has (and all of them are estimates on the projected plans) is estimated as the optimum, probably best it could have achieved if it could have ever been finished. Armor, shells with the stronger explosive, guns (and the wear to it due to excessive muzzle velocity), its accuracy, the reload, the ships speed, the maneuverability.

Like, all of this would still have to be proven if it would have been achievable either during construction or after, when testing or in combat. Because none of that happened, obviously in every metric it excells and is at least tied with the best possible values any other top tier ship in game has. Literally no downsides. (now, quick check on the BRs of other nations new top tier ships: easy decision, go into the italian or french tech tree: The Roma. Cool, around 2 times slower reload and a lot of other stats worse then the soyuz, basically same BR with 0.3 lower. Probably facing it every match. Make it make sense)

Now the maus, as you said is more or less balanced because it fights lots of way more advanced vehicles than were around when it was built, like one or two of them per match would still be manageable per match even for ww 2 tanks since every tank even at 6.0 can take out its guns (and the heavy hitters can kill it dead on) and it relies heavily on allies taking advantage of enemies having problems disabling it/taking it out. Not saying that that would be fun or balanced, just manageable. The problem is more, what do you do if theres 7 mouse players in every match if it would be 6.7. (like usually is after it gets researchable again) then its a real problem for ww2 tanks to deal with one maus holding every angle and covering each other. So, its more or less fine where it is now. Just a clear outlier in its playstyle at its own br and very strong in downtiers. But still usually not match deciding

A match with 7 soyuz in the enemy team? and the best you have are 8.0 ships max? The whole team should just leave the match after spawning and seeing them starting to turn to get guns on at match start. You cant damage them and even have a hard time to even scratch them with the amagi and the mutsus insane 410 mms. (and they are both more or less glass cannons)

Thinking about it, what they actually had the chance to do (or still have) is to pull something like a rock paper scissor: why not sort of balance it by assuming one metric could have been strong on the project, like: Strong guns, good reload, amazing shells (all as it is in game) but not also assume it has the best armor with still very good speed and maneuverability. Make it a glass cannon: Amazing guns, reload and shells, but just assume the armor maybe couldnt have been produced with the planned capability. Or the other way round: Armor as planned, but guns with worse accuracy due to wear and not the insane he equivalent for its shells, making it basically a scharnhorst 2.0 but which struggles more with taking out the other top tiers. Wouldn’t that be a viable option?
It would literally be so easy to still put the current in game version in in the future with the h-39 and maybe later refit Iowa class (???) and possibly more instead of just going back to a real scharnhorst era 2.

Yeah they made it too powerfull, prety much is this, The team that has SS wins the match.

You can put Yamato, Iowa && Bismarck together aginst it, in 3vs1 and is still 50/50 fight for most of it.
Its crazy.
