Not at all - they got 15,000 tons of steel put into it before they stopped, and over 13,000 tons into another one of the 4.
The final result might not have been as great as WT makes it, and perhaps not in the 1940’s, but there is no reason to believe they couldn’t complete it if they had determined to do so.
I feared it would come to this. If they wanna do paper ship rubbish, they might as well go the Navyfield route and add H39/H44, Lion, Super Yamato, Montana, and all that other rubbish. Imagine taking away Yamatos glory like this.

Iowa’s glory too, the Iowa class remains as the only fully preserved class of battleship in the world and has served in 4 major conflicts. It’s also arguably the best battleship ever made due to its speed and superior FCS
While Yamato is a fish hotel Iowa class floats majestically in the waters of ports and naval bases across the US

I’m aware,and if you follow the New Jersey’s museum channel you’ll see them document the Iowa’s various design deficiencies, including an armour weakness next to the forward most turret that would see Yamato nuking it with ease. This patch should have been the Yamato dunking on Iowa patch, but I digress. Even those who invest their livelihoods into preserving the Iowa admit that Yamato would be a problem for the Iowa. Put the freedomboo stuff away.

That would be pure luck, the Iowa could shell it from way farther out with much more accuracy
We’re talking War Thunder and you’re talking about superior FCS. The maps are not big enough for this to matter.

In a 1v1 against Yamato in earliest config with no nuke shells the Yamato might win if it’s perfect weather and the FCS on the Iowa is going through some technical issues
sure but the yamato had a plethora of other limitations. i really dont like to judge these kinds of things in a 1v1 scenario or the such.
