There was four of them being built too, I do hope to see them
They have pretty much always taken “propaganda stats” - think of any equipment in the game that has some sort of bad rep for anything and you’ll find it is not replicated - lots of modern a/c and tank discussions along the same lines.
Add this to the economic model that means they have to add more and more equipment, then it is no surprise they go all fantasy on it - because no one would pay for stuff that had historical limitations.
5 originally planned - 1 never started due to outbreak of war, 1 had 70,000 rivets installed that were not up to spec and got cancelled in 1940!
After the war apparently Stalin wanted SS to be completed as a vanity project, but the USSR was far to wrecked for that to ever happen - they needed to house 20-30 million people as a higher priority!!
Ah yes, I can clearly see it sailing the baltic battling it out with the German Bismark class. Oh wait, thats just it sitting in dry dock uncompleted and will never be.
Im surpised how blind one can be. The Italian naval players have provided tons of evidence that Roma can reach a peak RoF of 2 round per minute. The Iowa on paper is able reload and shoot her guns in 24 seconds. The Standards have been proved to shoot faster than 40 seconds and the British players provided plenty of evidence for boosting their guns RoF.
Yet, every single case Gaijin denies these reports on obscure technical grounds or so called ‘balance’ reasons. Gaijin picks and chooses who gets their ‘paper stats’ and who gets their ‘realistic’ stats.
You have to be delusional to not see this.
Sorry - are you suggesting that I don’t see it?? I gave you another even more egregious example.
Of course I see it - I’m just telling you how it is I see Gaijin doing all this warhammer-fication of WT.
Yeah, Soyuz is just absurd bias. Greatly above soviet engieneers ever dreamt of nor would they be capable of making most of the stuff. Soviets would not be able to harden such thick armour the turret faces was planned to be cast, ammo layout bs, hell even the ammo it aint the size of 406 mm looks more like 200 mm. Its not even below the turrets. Guns were only tested on the ground which tells little of its performance at sea with its insane gun wear. And they gave it 10kg extra TNT on it’s AP shell.
How are those both 406 mm shells?
Thats not simply 406 shell. Just biasing making the shell rooms and shells as small as possible for smaller hitbox. And it does not even have shells in the elevators like Yamato or Iowa.
And it keep getting buffed.
While Yamato is still missing some its internal armours, some armours of AAs and still has ammo above waterline with another huge ammoracks of AA shells that one cant even set to take less to decrease the ammo racks.
I really want to see what napkin drawing “schematic” they found to base the armour and module layout on. Because the scaling on the shells has to be for 203mm rounds, not 406 because those rooms are not fitting 300 406mm shells in them.
I find it hilarious that Gaijin stonewalled reports for Yamato armor and module layout but allowed this ship to get 400mm+ KCA belt armor when the Soviet Union could not produce KCA plates of that thickness in reality at all. Not to mention the bug report proving that A-IX-2 couldn’t be used in her ammo that is from before 1940 also being denied.
When you compare schematics and blueprints, Soyuz should actually be the bottom of the Super Battleships with how her armor is both flat vertically and made of inferior plates. Meanwhile Yamato, who should be the top is a squishy sushi roll with slightly scary APHE ammo.
Another example of USSR Jesus complex
Yep the soviet builders put laminate armour onto Soyuz because their industry physically could not produce monilthic plate of that thickness, So either the devs should come out and give a source that proves otherwise, or nerf its armour by the 10-20% it should get from being laminated.
We have other forms of armour modelled with their respecitive modifers, yet Soyzuz magically gets monilthic KCA? despite not being clad in it? If we start going down this route it just justifies the insane napkin drawings of naval planners.
I dont want to see H44 ingame, I dont want to see the Lion derivative with 18in guns, I dont want to see the 4 different planned Alsace designs, I dont want to see the A150 SuperYamatos with 20in guns, I dont want to see a hypothetical 44refit Tillman design. We dont need hypothetical ships, we need realistic paper ships that either were started or had genuine and serious effort put into before geopolitics cancelled them.
NO no no. Russia makes the best ships. It’s historical fact.
They will remain silent, just like the other peak bull**** the fake kh-38mt.
US should be the best 🤡 everyone should be equal, moron
That’s just how it is if it wasn’t for the fake & total fantasy Soyuz
No he was not. Actually Stalin was who wants to stop build battleship after WW2 because he was them as obsolete along with ‘large destroyers’. It was his mistake overlooking Baltic and Black Seas, main theater of Soviet navy, was different from Pacific Oceans, and Kuznestov and rest of Soviet admirals tries to keep battleship as escort of future carrier fleet. Those things failed, Project 23 and 24 eventually scrapped, and only Project 82 left as escort, what Soviet navy could only kept against Stalin’s order of ‘Cost-effectiveness first’
Still another one believing DM = VM. Also, do note that Iowa’s that ‘130 round’ is made by Gaijin’s simplication of shell room, and ingame Iowa doesn’t carry maximum ammo(which didn’t even listed on US Navy manuals, ships differ by time). That part is actually where 195 rounds should be contained.
Besides of radar, the continuos plotting with auto-calculation, doesn’t require radar and Japanes and Italian navy at WW2 used it too. And Soviet also import those thing because Italians sells them.
Besides of joking, I think IJN is the navy really needs paper plan ship more than Soviet right now.
Even A-150 with 510 mm gun wouldn’t solve Yamato’s problem as they share same cheeks and citadel of Yamato, and less gun and longer reload means that it is actually worse than Yamato in War Thunder.
What seriously IJN needs right now to balance against USSR or USA would be A140 designs with 410 mm guns, as those designs mostly doesn’t have cheek problem(and some even have turtleback)
Yes but radar should be quicker, more accurate, and still works in weather
Doesn’t relate to quicker. WW2 radar screen, and relating information shows in radar screen and plotting device should be worked by human, so quickness is still depend on human.
For Accurate and weather yes.
Couldnt almost everything relating to guns and FCS be controlled from one place on the Iowas? This should make it quicker if true I think
Good amount of it got automated too iirc
Plotting room isn’t uniqueness of Iowa… every battleship at WW2 can do that
Automation is not something unique of US Navy either. Except of radar, plotting is almost same for each nation.
