I wouldnt bet on it. Its still an MOU and Indonesia has had a history of MOUs and then losing interest later on like the Boeing MOU for 24 F-15EX or 12 Mirage 2000. I would personally wait until a Letter of Intent is signed before any confirmation is made.

yep we love MoUs, no consequences no requirement, we just say we want it and we might get it in the future. Su-35 deal for instance, been stuck in limbo for the past few years, and only recently we got a deal out of it (rumors). But its not losing interest thats the problem, its losing money.

the KF-21 we already invested money into it, not a lot but still noticeable amount, and im fairly certain we’re not gonna let that RnD cost go for nothing (domestic RnD for it kinda failed), unless of course the shitshow that went down throughout the development for the reason why we walk, which is quite plausible, and as I said before, even the longshot F-15EX is more plausible than the KF-21, and the F-15EX hasnt had an actual concrete news since the announcement lmao

Hopefully TNI-AU still purchases some KF-21 even if they do decide to go with the KAAN, and tbf if the KAAN is successful, its a pretty good platform without any of the strings attached like with the KF-21 so I do kinda get the point why Indonesia would do this.
