During gameplay (GRB) i noticed that the “Own Engine noise” slider wasn’t working , and the engine noise of my tank was at max volume no matter what. In an attempt to fix that, i deleted the sound banks of vehicle engines assuming it would use the vanilla sound effects of the game, which weren’t effected by the initial problem, however it instead removed my vehicles’ engine noise completely.
This does technically give me a very slight advantage against other players. I was wondering if this situation was bannable, and if so is it likely that i could appeal and have my ban resolved?
I’m sorry for the lack of attachments since i can’t really record my gameplay properly.
Hi!
To clarify, modifying the game’s files in a way that is not officially supported (camos/sound mods/missions) is not permitted.
The ToS states under §3.2.2:
“modify, translate, create derivative works of, reverse engineer, disassemble, or decompile the Game(s) (in whole or in part).”
§3.2.3 also prohibits modifications that:
“alter the game’s mechanics or functionality”
or “provide an unfair advantage over other players”.

This differs from using the official sound-mod functionality when it is available. However, manually deleting or replacing the game’s sound files while this functionality is disabled still modifies the game client and cannot be considered authorised.
