South Africa doesn’t have close ties with any other nation and personally I think India should be in the Russian tree as NATO largely denied them arms at first due to them being too close to the Soviets so the Soviets armed them instead and they became fast friends
As I have said before, Britain can’t get the whole of the whole Commonwealth, theres just too much of it, and Canada and S. Africa seem to be the big two members for the British tree which means Australia ends up with the USA, most of the Aussie vehicles in the UK tree are from WWII and have been there for a very long time, aside from some naval vessels that is.
It would still be good to get this all properly hashed out by Gaijin with an official statement/plan. There is too much “cherry picking” for what goes where. Which often feels like certain nations just get perpetually screwed.
Which is my main objection. Not where things HAVE gone, but the fact its not consistant.
The TAM is an Argentine vehicle, just as the T-90 Brishma is an Indian vehicle. Understood?
Argentina manufactures the TAM, T&H only produced one prototype, the TH-301. Argentina created an industrial complex called TAMSE and manufactured the vehicle, Germany attended and there was technology transfer.
The relationship between the USSR and India with the T-90 Brishma is even deeper, since the vehicles were produced in the USSR (T-72BU) and then extensively modernized by India, with assistance from Uralvagonzavod.
If India is not in the game, that vehicle goes to the Soviet TT.
Like I said, the T-90S going to the Russian tree so more reasonable but Gaijin decided Britain needs a squadron vehicle and at least there is some historical connection between the two. What other tree would the TAM go to?
don’t get me wrong. I am not against the Indian T-90 in the UK.
I’m just sick of the double standard. If you bring the Indian T-90 to the UK, you should do the same with the Australian M1. It makes me angry to have read arguments hundreds of times about why the Australian M1 does not belong to the UK. And then, as if they were mocking us, they put the T-90 in the UK and deny the Lynx to Germany.
The only thing one can reasonably go for is that Hunter is a British jet that should be added to Britain. That a Swiss F-18 would go to the US, a Swiss Mirage to France and that a Swiss tech tree would be to small and international to make sense.
That is what I’m going for.
Yeah, Im all for keeping a nation together, so if there is a genuine plan to add a lot more Swiss Tech to Germany, then fine, it can stay put (though I do really hope we get another Hunter for the British TT, There are so many variants and export versions, but the 3 we’ve got are all a bit… meh, at the moment) But if there is no plan to add any further Swiss stuff at the moment, then its completely random putting it there.
A lot of Swiss ground vehicles are modifications of German vehicles, such as the Panzer 87-140, and it would be nice to see some of them in the German tree.
Now that is just the stupidest idea, what is the point of adding Swiss vehicles to half the trees in the game, just off the top of my head they would be split between at least the British, Swedish, Germans and Americans, so why bother adding them at all?
So, a big question.
They mentioned adding more variants/variety once they start adding more stuff to vehicle folders.
Does that mean we can still see the F-4E-61 with AIM-9M, AIM-7P ( to counter lack of PD radar, would be a logical choice IMO) and Pave Tack (with LBUs and Mavs)?
I mean, that could work extremely well given that the plane did carry all that ordnance and would in fact be quite okay even at like 11.7/12.0 as a strike fighter…
Edit: if the K2K can work with Python 3, maybe later 4s, then so can that one
If the vehicles are unique they would still be interesting in their nation of origin.
Mirage IIIS with improved AIM-4 and all aspect AIM-9P for example.
Depending on the variant.
Regarding the Hunter what is your stance on Swiss Toblerone license produced in Germany?
In which tech tree would it belong?
What if a German Soldier eats Toblerone?
Certainly if you made similar chocolate and call it Toblerone there would be a law suit.
Britain was able to ruin the exported Super Étendard for Argentina due to Martin Baker ejection seats being in them.
I’d say country of origin regarding certain parts alone is more important regarding close relations than cultural affinity or correlation.
In War Thunder neither seems to truly matter.
There is only one nation that uses the KF-41 and it is already represented in game, you can talk about other vehicles all you want but none of them are the same as the KF-41, it has found it’s place in the game and there isn’t another version or user for it to go anywhere else.
I mean if literally any other country used it then that version could go into the German tech tree but Hungary is the only user.
