Honestly, I think Canada, Britain, and South Africa should be the nation composition.
ADATS m113 feels at home in the UK tree, and in british colours. Whereas T90s, TES Tejas, MiG29s…it would feel invasive

Yeah, I’d prefer to keep it to just the UK, Canada and S. Africa, so the Gripen or CF-18 would both be really good options for the UK in my mind. CF-18 following the navy line and Gripen following the RAF line.

I mean the AIM-7F onward can be guided through HPRF radar modes, which is how they justify it being on the F-16C/D, does the FA2 have a HPRF mode?
Blue Vixen lacked CW illumination. So British Sparrows were not compatible with it
I expect the FA.2 to come as one of the first aircraft with AMRAAM

Yep, it would be pretty useless with Sparrow/Skyflash anyways.
100% agree. I understand India is a commonwealth nation but frankly, it should be reserved for premiums only.
It doesn’t have that NATO vibe to it and feels more at home with Russia with how they have so much of their kit.
Canadian CF-18s? That would rock. It would make Britain feel like an actually good nation again

The us F-16C Block 50 also lacks a CW illuminator but it can guide the AIM-7.
The UK didn’t use those missiles though. And Skyflash needs CW.
The F-16C could use Sparrow though (someone posted a document and photos in another thread showing it)

Yeah, some F-16Cs had CW illuminators on their radar, the F-16C Block 50 didn’t aside from specific export requests, the HPRF mode is what allows it to guide the Sparrow, but you are right the UK uses the Skyflash which I forgot about.
They are going to have to add AMRAAM soon, so FA2 can just use those. Besides a harrier with SARH would be kinda useless. ARH though would be far more usable on a subsonic platform
Yeah but adding the AMRAAM doesn’t solve any of Britain’s problems,
When the F.3 or FA2 get AMRAAMs, the F-16C will have AMRAAMs too, you take one step while everyone else take two.
The CF-18 or Gripen are needed for Britain to actually progress at top tier.

Yeah, though that is always true. But till typhoon where we will leap frog ahead. FA2 might keep us in the fight

FA2 shouldnt have all those problems. It will be equally sticked vs other nations, not an 11.3 vs 12s. It wont be a turn fighter, but might be able to survive WVRs with well placed VIFFs, maybe even win 1 or 2. You also will have a decent cockpit view, allowing you to see what is going on and where. At least it wont instantly explode like the F3 does when you whisper “dogfight” into its ear. It can carry a small bomb load so can hit PvE targets.
The New RWR is also going to be a big buff for Britain, for all jets, but you will have the confidence to stick the FA2 where it is strongest, not always hugging the deck.

Personally, I find Canada is drastically closer to Britain more than India is. But seeing Canadian jets would be cool.
I find the closest nations to Britain in terms of commonwealth are Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

Is it just me or is the Yak-141 on the dev server incredibly agile. I ask because that plane literally pulls 13G and outmaneuvering an F-16 with that is absolutely no problem even stock. I don’t know how it works on a normal server because I’ve it only on dev.

I know Canada uses Leopards, but I know we can provide LAVs, IFVs, and other light vehicles, which Britain needs.
I can see Canada providing LAVs/IFVs, and some Jets, but i cant see us providing MBTs apart from some WW2 stuff.

I came to the same conclusion the YF 16 existed, but never for Japan, Japan got proposed the f16J wich was based on the f16 prototype, but never got nor flew the YF 16, they didnt Even consider it
