Sons of Attila - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 2)

Fingers crossed. I hope that as well. If not Paul Tremelling lied to us all :P

(He wrote a really good book about his time as a FA2 pilot called Harrier, how to be a fighter pilot)

What’s sleep?

This update could of been

US : F-16C
Germany : ?
Britain : SAAF : Gripen C
Russia : SMT
Italy : RHuaf : Gripen C
France : ?
Irsael : F-16C
Sweden : Gripen
Japan : ?
China : Mirage 2000 ?

Hmmmm insightful, thank you.
Have you played the ET? I don’t think you have, I have extensively since dev dropped and I retract my earlier statement. The R27ET does have a great all aspect range (20km afterburning targets) as well as insane rear quarters.

Regardless of it is not going to be the go-to missile everyone uses. It’s still an added capability in the arsenal of the Mig29 that is has, that the F16C or any nation does not.

Additionally, if the R27ET is so useless, why did GJ hold it when they released the ER? They chose specifically to hold that variant of the missile. Why?

There are not that many playable Mig29s? that is the argument?

Yes, when R27s are spent the Mig29 now has R73s, its awesome.
Have you played the R73 on the Mig29? Its utterly insane. I do not think its OP, but it’s ridiculously deadly.
The R73 by itself is not special, even irl. It only becomes special when combined with a high alpha, HMD irst platform such as the Mig29.

The Mig29SMT is the only jet that can sling a missile at insane angles where opponents will never suspect in a furball. If you are in a furball with multiple SMTs, it’s over with. You cannot maintain the situational awareness to cover every possible angle each SMT can deliver the R73. It is not possible.

I play with track IR and I still cannot maintain the level of situational awareness to cover the area in which you are vulnerable against multiple opponents with R73s. Only the F14B can preflare and buy time to prioritize threats. No other fighter can.
I guess the Barak can as well with its flare count.

I’d prefer the SHar FA2 (and the fact they’ve spent the last 9 months making the FRS1 cockpit. i’d expect the FA2 to be the most polished addition ever) personally. But yeah, it could have been fine

Something that @AlvisWisla make you do lol

True

Why do you think 9L is OP?
R-73 & 9Ls are still easily flared, they’re not OP in the slightest.
Not only that but R-73 gets almost all of its maneuverability under power, meaning when it’s out of fuel it’s not maneuverable.

SMT is still the worst Mig-29 airframe for maneuverability, even if it gets a buff, due to its drastically added weight.
On top of that, it is BR 12.3. I will repeat that, BR 12.3.
Viggen will not be curbstomped by Mig-29SMT, and I’ll gladly kill SMTs with it when the update goes live.
Cause as I said previously, SMT is far less maneuverable than Mig-29 9.12 & 9.13.
Viggen has a top 5 radar BTW.

F-2 is 13.0 minimum, F-15J is what Japan would get if anything.

@Deathmisser
China has F-16A MLU, they’re solid even if they get nothing.
As much as I’d love F-15Cs, Japan is perfectly fine next update.
I genuinely thought R-73s would be more powerful than they are, but then the “aha” moment that thrust vectoring missiles are not maneuverable once they’re out of fuel came to mind.

The Gripen will be HUGE for us as the Viggen doesnt have any advantages over other Aircraft anymore other then MAYBE first turn AOA

Yea but it’s easier for gaijin to pop out another skin. But from was Smin said there won’t be a Gripen for Britain this update.

Yeah, Britain is suffering at the moment, but we can hide in our CAS jets. Sweden looks really really screwed over at the moment

The Mirage is 1000% better then the Viggen and still keeps up extremely well in the current meta

Exactly they couldve given us the AJS SO long ago but we were forgotten

Development takes time, they cannot give what’s not flyable.

Yeah that’s true. Though arguably, the FA2 is just a FRS1 with part swaps. Not quite as quick as re-skinning a Gripen, but not that slow either

Besides, don’t forget, there is no prescendent for a nation to get another nations import vehicle onto the TT, we can only get natively produced vehicles from other countires

Yeah, can take 9 months to add a cockpit and radar to a jet after it was added… :P

Tf 🤣 Is this sarcasm lmao

Somewhat :P
