Sons of Attila - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 2)

Considering there is an Australian Abrams in the US tree right now and Australia is a closer ally to the UK than india is and both are members of the commonwealth, its wierd they have been so… selective on this. Surely that Abrams should be moved over to us

They’re a closer ally to the US than to the UK, and it’s an American vehicle, so it makes sense that it is and remains in the US tree.

and India is a closer ally to Russia and its a Russian vehicle…

Not saying you are wrong, but its a messy argument

India became Independant in 1947. They are NOT members of the commonwealth and do not have any allegiance to the British monarch since.

So since India is a free independent nation that disregards a dead old queen, her family and the nation that follows them.

What does that have to with their FREE decision to do business with the Russians and the T90?

You are confusing the British Empire and the Commonwealth. They got indpendence from the British Empire in 1947, but voted to remain a part of the Commonwealth

"The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of 56 independent and equal countries.

It is home to 2.5 billion people, and includes both advanced economies and developing countries. 33 of our members are small states, including many island nations.

Our member governments have agreed to shared goals like development, democracy and peace. Our values and principles are expressed in the Commonwealth Charter.

The Commonwealth’s roots go back to the British Empire. But today any country can join the modern Commonwealth. The last two countries to join the Commonwealth were Gabon and Togo in 2022."

Now the T-90 was a stupid addiiton that no one wanted, but your argument is fundamentally flawed.

Thank you as I am not a brit or indian.

Is india a member of the commonwealth as we speak? Yes or no, Were they members of the common wealth during the time they acquired license for the T-90? Yes or no.

India is part of the commonwealth.

YES, they are a member of the commonwealth.

The commonwealth was founded in 1947 and India was a founding member

“India became independent in 1947. India wanted to become a republic which didn’t owe allegiance to the British king or queen, but it also wanted to stay a member of the Commonwealth. At a Commonwealth Prime Ministers meeting in London in 1949, the London Declaration said that republics and other countries could be part of the Commonwealth. The modern Commonwealth of Nations was born.”

London Declaration, 1949 | Commonwealth.

Puppet government?

Don’t see what’s messy about it, the Russian tree is the only tree where that vehicle belongs, if it has to be added.

Of who? It voted to join in 1947 and then voted to remain after becoming a republic in 1950. The British government is not the Kremlin

Also, again, being a member of the Commonwealth means diddly squat in terms of military alliances. The UK and India are not allies, and there’s no military aspect of the Commonwealth in any case.

Indian T-90 should have gone to the USSR tree. not hte British tree.

If Britain gets it because its a commonwealth nation then surely the Australian Abrams in game could and probably should come to the UK by that same reasoning. Would also fit the British TT a lot better than a T-90 does.

So what does being a member of the commonwealth have to do with military alliances? There is no evidence that I can see that because India was/is part of the commonwealth it has a right to the T-90

Ok so NATO exist. Therefore Brittain can and shall receive EVERY export fighter and tank the US ever sent anywhere. Just because they are both members of nato

NATO is an actual millitary alliance. Unlike the “commonwealth” it makes more sense to give them Abrams and f16s

I agree… to a point. I think Canadian and Australian stuff for example would be quite good in the British Tree, stuff like the CF-18 could be fun

There’s no connection though. Canadian and Australian stuff from after the Korean War clearly belongs in the US tree, unless it’s a vehicle which is actually British.

Tbh there was better options to add to the British Tree its just that it was added to make money tbh

Absolutely nothing. Its the grave Gaijin dug for itself and it makes no sense. But they wanted a way to add these nations to the game without giving them their own tree and this was the only solution they could come up with. Which means we get SA and indian vehicles instead of our own.

The reason we got it, is because its a commonwealth nation and thats where the reasoning ends. It makes no sense. I think the reason we got a T-90 though, its because it was an easy way to give us a better MBT without fixing the CR2

Quite a bit actually. Like the Hawk. but Britian “COULD” get CF-18 by the precedent set by the Indian T-90. Same way many think we’ll get a SA Gripen. I’d hate it over a native jet like the Sea Harrier FA2, etc. But its the quagmire they driven Britain into
