Theres still 2 major patches this year the chances for both are quite high but why do you think the gripen comes this year, we dont even have a su-27 or f-15, and both of them are 80s jets while the gripen is from the late 1990s into 2000.
There are three more updates, actually, the September one, the October/November one, and the December one, and I believe it’s coming because it has quite literally been confirmed to be coming.

its chaning every year, last years updates were quite small i would not consider them major updates for the most part, but what im trying to say is, you better hope the gripen is not another MiG-29 case, where they add the jet but with limited ordnance stuck to AIM-9L and no AIM-120.

I have to say, I kinda exspect Aim-120 until the end of the year
They struggled so much with the base R-73 variant the AIM-120 is on par with the R-77 do you really think they add it in, i would prefer a legacy hornet first before any new crazy missiles come out.
What you consider a major update is not the same as what Gaijin considers a major update. The Gripen coming with limited loadout options won’t be a problem either, as just its flight model alone coupled with AIM-9Ls and RB99s (there is no reason currently to believe it won’t come without them, with equivalents being added for other nations) will make it a very competent aircraft, possibly the best depending on how Gaijin models it.

But alltogether do you think its needed ? Isnt the Jagtviggen more than enough already ? they are perfectly fine in timeline with the other jets, besides the tornado they are using quite modern variants from 1995 up to 2006.
The JA37D has a very underperforming flight model in comparison to the MiG-29, F-16, and Mirage 2000, so yes, I do believe that it is needed.
Also, Sweden doesn’t have a Tornado.
in the end the best about the Gripen would be, it combine 2 planes in 1, the AJS37 and the Jaktviggen just like the new Mirage 2k with france got recently

It would only make sense if the MiG-29 (both) get their flight performance back they had on the first dev server, im not sure if you have any of them but turning off your afterburner is a death sentence you bleed speed so crazy fast faster than any other aircraft, its such a joke and this was also quite often mentioned in CC videos its for balance right but thats like too much, i hope it doesnt jump over to more modern jets.
The statcards of the most jets are lying there is no way you can reach the top speed.
Regardless of how underperforming the MiG-29 is compared to its real counterpart, the JA37D is underperforming compared to the MiG-29 in game, and that is all that matters. On top of that, the Skyflash is vastly inferior to the R-27ER, so a weaponry upgrade would be good for balance.
You need to take into account you can only carry 2x R-27ER and 4 skyflash.
with a Su-27 this may change tho, but the mig-29 every variant is limited to 2 BVR missiles.
R-27ERs are guaranteed kills for a decently skilled pilot most of the time. Skyflashes are not all that difficult to counter with the knowledge of how to do so. And again, the flight performance difference matters more in this case than the weaponry difference.
But still you are able to use more missiles, lets ignore the current ones just imagine you have a very late gripen they still have more missiles than your mig-29 ever get and with the time they become better, and yet you are always stuck with 2 BVR and 4 R-73 if you are lucky, there has to be some sort of balance at some point.
A good solution would be to recieve better missiles earlier than usual, like it is the case now with the MiG-23
The JAS39C is not a very late Gripen, and by the time one does arrive, a better MiG-29, on top of at least one Su-27 and possibly even one of the upgrades, such as the Su-30 or Su-33 will be in game.
Thats the suchoi line they are all good strong and they are better than the MiG-29 in every way possible, but there will always be a line for MiG-29 up to MiG-35 but they dont change much in their armament.
They will get better R-73s after the initial variant, all the way up to the R-74M, the R-27ET, and the R-77 and its variants. There is quite the armament advancement.
Yes but you will never be as strong as the Su-27, i dont know exactly when but theres a time when the MiG starts to be less important and then the Suchoi is finally getting up to the top, which was long in hands of the MiG group.
