Itβs so easy to forget and tbh I hate daylight savings, when the clocks go back in like October it goes from being sunny till 8PM to getting dark at like 4PM in the blink of an eye I swear

things are often not standardised to allow interchangeability but rather for convenience of design and manufacture

I must remind you for testing they stored a Leopard 2 turret on an M48 Hull because it fits without modification

Here is the Leopard 2 project with a flat/ low-profile tower built in 1983. Basically the 1/35 model. Abrams has an 85-inch (2160 mm) turret ring, which is much wider than the Leopard 2 (1980 mm β 78 inches). Real towers are not interchangeable. It was a new tower designed by Wegman in 1978, which reduced the height of the tower by 30% and which had to be combined with the Euro Pak engine, which reduced the length of the hull by 1 m (support wheel). These volume reductions made it possible to create a new Leopard 2 model with a significantly increased armor thickness, but with a combat weight of less than 60 tons. Lowering the main gun to -10 degrees was to be provided by a rising flap on the roof of the tower.
