Sons of Attila - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 1)

just working more. Yeah, I saw that! I do not have the Su25, but it seems no better than the other 40G missiles. Actually, the python is much faster missile.

Still don’t know why the two Su 22 for Germany aren’t folded

the Python is faster but the R-73 can do like a whole 180, makes the R-73 the better dogfight missile but the Python is better at longer ranges. once they get the autopilot bugs fixed I think the R-73 is gonna come to the main line aircraft pretty soon.

Should clarify, thanks to the IRCCM you should actually be able to use it in a dogfight, it’s flare resistance is kinda inconsistent but it does seem better than the AIM-9L although occasionally it does get thrown by a single flare, we’ll have to see how it is after the fixes they’re making.

True, one could only hope it recives that or a later Russian pod that came later while the Mig 29 was still in service

We’re definitely gonna see the R-73 on the Su-39 and Su-25T, and maybeee in the yak 141 we’ll have to see

yak 141 doesnt need them

I would hope so, although the only one that is actually usable in air battles is the Yak :/ would be nice to see it come to the MiG-29 soon, maybe whenever they add the F-15.

yeah but it also probably wouldn’t hurt to give it them, the Yak-141 isn’t on the same level as the F-16 and MiG-29 for flight performance and it would be replacing R-27Ts instead of R-60s so the boost in performance is lower, it would also be a good way to actually get them into the matchmaker as no one actually wants to fly an SU-25 at 11.3

Yea, but if they actually give R-73 to top tier soviet planes I believe a good counter then would be AIM-95s for the stuff that did get tested with them and AIM-9Ms for the stuff that didn’t

AIM-95 is a mystery when it comes to stats. Aim-9M is a better choice

If anything the Yak 141’s flight performance, while not technically the best for a sustained dogfight, is actually very meta for air rb, it accelerates extremely fast, holds it’s speed well, and it can get in and get out super quickly, but I see no issue with it getting the R-73, it’s just a longer range IR missile that might result in a sneaky kill on an unaware opponent more often than the R-60m’s, which would be nice. I’d even go as far as to say the Yak 141 is criminally underrated.

F-16 need help in air rb right now, it’s got the opposite issue going for it, it’s flight performance is very very good for a sustained 1v1 dogfight, but in the context of air rb when getting slow and entering a sustained turnfight where you need to divert all your attention to keeping the fight 2-circle, you’re getting third partied no matter what, I’d say with it’s current F-104-like playstyle, it could just have the AOA limiter removed so it can dogfight at high speeds, wheras the Russian aircraft at top tier get a kit buff with the R-73 once it’s fixed, I think that seems lile a reasonable way to buff both of them. Ideally, I’d prefer the F-14b radar also being able to use it’s PD in side aspect as well.

The F-16 doesn’t have an AOA limiter modelled in game, it’s flight performance is already good enough nothing like the F-104 it is incredibly manoeuvrable.

And the whole point of PD radar is that it needs movement towards or away from the user to work, it can’t work side aspect that’s the tradeoff

Ngl this is the most quiet it’s been

Everyone’s asleep

What do you mean, the F16 BL10 Netz is like the best plane in the game

The Netz is not the best jet in game. However, it is the best furball dogfighter of top tier currently. No other fighter can get in start of the match and sling its missiles and still maintain survivability.

The only reason the Netz excels at this is because of the python 3 missile.

??? I mean, if you value the python 3 and acceleration speed a lot more than anything else, then I can see it.

Was hoping for Ground specifically because many nations have and will similar model aircrafts however even when they have a similar model it does not mean they have the same variant which could have undergone minor to major changes and serve a different mission purpose. The F-15J and F-15K is an prime example of that.

Here is a list of that :

Same model and variant Same model different variant
T-33, S-2A, F-4E, UH-60, AH-1S, M167, M110 and 106 recoilles rifle Jeep T-28, F-4D, F-15, F-16/F-2, CH-47, MD-500, UH-1, AH-1F, AH-64 and M270

The LAV are 2 different vehicles with different weapons systems with a similar concept (F&F and Top attack).

South Korea still has many other systems that Japan does not operated, so they don’t share a lot of similar equipments (same model and variant) especially in our current time.

What kind of influence did Japan and Sweden have on the K2 BP development? Also should Germany not be included for their engine and transmission.

Correct it does not have an active hydropneumatic suspension, C4I, self sharping tungsten and soft kill (Type 10 also) but it does have composite/ERA side armor and it has been fitted with 12.7mm.

F-16 doesn’t need help, it’s the best dogfighter at 12.0 tied with Mig-29.

Another good reason for Japan to get them. Good diversity.

Innovative solutions that can bring “diversity” to Japan:

Spoiler

There is no doubt that it is very original as there is no similar vehicle.
In other words, “diversity” is not a good excuse.
