Sons of Attila - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 1)

Let’s rather talk about if we get a new devblog today

I dont care specialy for the german tree, this should happen to all trees to keep the content flow going i just only know about germans possible aircraft, and i never said they have to get them i said they could get them, you all are just getting way to agitated over this, content flow can be done in 3 ways, give a nation an officaly used vehicle, evaluated /prototype vehicle, or a vehicle from another nation.
Additionaly you all are forgetting war thunder is not a representation of a nations military it is a game, they want to keep the game content for every nation going so that they can keep making money, giving scare diversity to a nations tech tree allows new players or olders ones to choose more broadly and as a result keeps the money flowing into every tree.

Nah, this logic sucks, man.
You could say the exact same about the F-16 in China. Or Italy having the F.3 Tornado
Or Sweden having the MiG21
Or Germany getting the MiG29

It’s just how subtrees work. Gripen was exported to SAAF. South Africa and UK are the same tree. It was used by them, therefore…

yeah but then the F-2 and F-15J were the only choices Japan had until Gaijin dropped arguably the best jet in the game on their lap with very little historical basis to back it up.

MiG-29 is not Fox3 capable
F-4F ICE is a 3rd Gen fighter
EF-2000 is a 4.5 Gen fighter likely coming much later than the F-15

besides it doesn’t need to be an F-15 but there is precedent for them to get something between the F-4F ICE and the EF-2000, something that isn’t historically accurate.

Unless they add Eurofighter DA2 which only operated ASRAAM and AIM-9L

Thats why we said Swiss F-18 or Polish F-16 will be much better choice then adding F-15 into German tech tree.

Did you miss that part?

This wouldn’t fix UKs lack of A2A ability but they could add Jaguar GR.3 - 2 ASRAAM and a helmet mounted sight system + more ground ordinance

DA2 was a British development aircraft. it’s no better a fit than the F-15s that Germany tested.

So what’s the next best option to fill the A2A requirement for the UK while keeping it as British as possible?
We’ve already got Gaijin’s precedent of “If there’s no other vehicle the tree could have, they will add concept or prototypes to fill gaps” see F16AJ, YAK141, etc

DA.2 would fill the gap for the UK. It was operated for a long time, it has full weapons and avionics capability, countermeasures and all. It’s the least “pushing your luck” vehicle you can do with adding prototypes.
Its essentially EF2000 with worse engines, and no radar missiles.

to be fair you all missed the part where i said that this would be a good way as well and could replace the evaulated aircraft but you ignored that

Keep in mind, the current “top tier A2A” for britain is: Harrier Gr.7 which is a sub sonic strike fighter that just so happens to carry decent missiles. And Tornado which is dogshit but good to see in game. It just doesnt match the BR

Maybe add AIM-120A/B to Tornado to compensate for the “if you get close its a free kill” aspect?

DA.2 could fill the gap for Britain I was saying it doesn’t make much sense for Germany, it would be like giving the Germans a Tornado F.3, like yes the Germans used the Tornado, just not the F.3 model.

Germany getting F-15s or F-16s, especially as German planes (as opposed to other countries within the German tree, which is still not good) is when I’m going to uninstall this game.

Did Germany operated Mig29? Yes.

Did İtaly operated Tornado with amraam capability? Yes.

Did Taiwan operated F-16? Yes.

Not to mention Finnish Mig-21 wasnt even the top dog for Swedish tech tree, on the other hand you’re basically asking top Swedish jet fighter for British tree cause you dont want to grind another aviation line.

İf you want sub tree plane Cheetah is pretty solid solution, asking for best Swedish jet is not.

Oh my bad, I think some lines have been crossed lmao
I’m talking about British Air being fixed, not Germany, though I suspect the Luftwaffe likely had a DA.2 equivillent.

I personally think they would be more likely to get the F-5G / F-20 then the F/A-18.

İ didnt missed, i intentionally said its not a good idea cause adding F-15 into German tree will cause more mess.

On the other hand adding Swiss or Polish planes is much more acceptable.

giving germany saudi arabian tornado adv would be funny xD, but it propably would make a better britian premium at one point

So what’s the difference between Cheetah and Kfir or Mirage? Both are the french and Israeli top tier. Why is that fair in that case then, but not if it’s Gripen?

I’m not following the logic here. SAAF operated Gripen. If you add Cheetah, no reason you cant give SAAF Gripen beyond trying to make things unneccessarily grindy and exclusive. The UK tree already exists of: UK, Indian, Jordinian and South African.
Anything of those countries is fair game for the tree.

A friend texted and sent me those same pictures. Those are actually French PLDCT pods.

There is no solid reasoning for the MiG-29 to use French weaponry and given the time period (1998) it is very likely that this was simply a mockup display.
