South African Gripen C and D?
Still a ways off probably since there will only be Gripen A’s and B’s for a while I suppose.
Didn’t see anyone talking about this so I figured I’d ask if anyone knows when this was datamined? Interesting the the Kohd thermal pod is in the files, if it ever gets added, it would be the first thermal targeting pod for a Soviet/Russian jet in game, tho I couldn’t find much info on it.

so what do y’all think are the top 5 most likely aircraft to appear in the summer event based on what is currently passed for consideration and what they have done in previous years?
I’d say maybe the F-16/79 for the Americans, uses an F-4 phantom engine and had some downgraded armaments
I guess Gripen C from SAAF BR 12.7 because some better Gripen C with PS-05/A mk.3 for Swedish
I guess Gripen C equivalent F-16CG Block 40, MiG-29M, J-10A & F/A-18C Hornet
They planned the Gripen for sometime this year. Where does it say it’s a C? Thats already pretty advanced.
If it is the C then we can indeed see SA versions, perhaps for the event. I’d love that but I thing you’re mistaken about the C unless you know something I don’t.

I would welcome it. Both nations are interested in re-unification and they can keep their current flags per vehicle. They could use the Joseon flag maybe.

I’ve also seen people say the Gripen is coming next patch.
Got a source for that too by any chance or is it just speculation based on the “soon”.
I’m already pre grinding it either way.
No clue which patch, but I think AMRAAMs will arrive a patch before that, so that the ja37d can get rb99 before gripen comes.
Or both. Both is even better at the same time, but that’s just my prediction

Yeah. This year means it’s likely one of the 3 patches and/or 2 events.
Personally expecting a version for one of the events, perhaps a two seater without a gun like the B or D, and then a tech tree single seater like the C and maybe A.
The “Soon” does bring up hopes it’ll be next patch and like you said they might wait to give AMRAAMs first so they can be eased into the game on a lesser platform like the JA37D.
Still not sure why they’ll start with the C, assuming that’s what he meant. Is the A maybe not capable of carrying RB99’s? The Gripen A is newer than the first JA37D’s so don’t think that’s the reason but I am probably missing a lot of relevant information. Anyways, glad to see such a great aircraft coming to Sweden. I’m already busy pre-grinding it. Only about 1,5 million RP to go until I have unlocked the JA37D (assuming it’ll come after that).
