Already 1 country is interested in buying the Kf-51, depending on the pace at which the Kf-51 is being made, the fact that a fully working automatic loader was made for it in a year, then by the age of 24 it may be small-scale serial, or maybe a lot of serial. This is not the T-14, which 152mm useless is planned to be made only by 2030. And Germany should have a Leopard 2AX 130 mm already in 25 year.
refreshing to hear sth like that, but sorry it is high time german tree gets new mbt additions and the Leopard 2A7V just is the next step, all other Leopard versions of the 2a6 are modkits of those countries and are only a stop gap solution that isnt optimal for the german tree

nah first comes the leopard 2A8 now, it isnt known yet if the AX will even realy come or if we skip to the Leopard 3/ Final EMBT, but possible AX is further away
Leo 2AX i think will be great with era and 130 mm. After Leo 2a8 with trophi, i think that will be AMAP-ADS.So we’ll see, future in clouds
Hope we see a leo2 with a hydrogen fuel cell soon. Would be cool to have in war thunder.
The climate crisis doesn’t matter for militarys (to small of an impact) but tanks with hydrogen fuel cells would still have huge advantages. They have no thermal signature and are quiet + countrys can produce hydrogen easy themself and don’t need to rely on imported oil (especially for european coutnries this matters).
The Bundeswehr already thinking about it and Rheinmetall needs to deliver sooner or later
Leopard 2AX is planned for 2025-2030, weapon wont change it will keep the 120mm but they are working on improved ammunition, drone usage, further development of the composite armor, new engine. There is no planned use of ERA specialy. APS systems is further development of Eurothropy system no planned use of the AMAP-APDS, the AX is supposed to be the last stage of the Leopard 2 era, so they work on what already exists, cannon change another AP system etc would be to big changes.
The 130mm/140mm compability is planned for the EMBT /Leopard 3 where germany prefers the 130mm from rheinmetall and french the 140mm from nexter. And the intregration of APS systems into the tank and not mounted on them like you see on 2A7A1 or coming 2A8
But there era may succesfully lower weight of vehicle. So ADS more and more useful for protection in any case. I just want to see that. Entwiclung Deutschland der Baum

intresting yes, but ERA isnt that well liked in european countries, because it is dangerous to potential surrounding infantry if it gets triggered and those is against germanys military doctrine

Idk man gaijin mixed up some Prototype Al Khalid with MBT-2000.MBT-2000 isn’t supposed to have Leclerc’s transmission. Only a prototype was tested with that transmission and that prototype had a 1300HP engine.
Al Khalid has APS,DU rounds and some other upgrades compared to MBT-2000.
But all the other things are same as Bangladeshi/Burmese MBT-2000.
I wouldn’t really call it the enemy, the T-14 is very low tech compared to AbramsX or KF-51.
That’s of course hypothetical as none of the 3 are officially in service yet.
