Sons of Attila - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 1)

My bad, but aren’t they used only by the F-35? Don’t the F-15J and F-2A use the AAM-4/4B? I read that the AAM-4 was too big to fit in the F-35’s internal weapons bay.

M1A2 SEP3 is superior to T-90MS & 2A7, so SEP 2 is more reasonable.

@Legwolf

The next jet for Britain is BR 12.3, so be patient.
We might not even get 12.3 this major.

good

Maybe! There’s a few planes for Britian that might not be so powerful as you’d imagine.
Stuff like Jaguar GR.3 with the Helmet Mounted Sight System and 2 AIM-9Ls could very well be britians next jet, though an attacker isn’t really what the UK is lacking.

I’m not holding my breath for the obvious pick of Eurofighter DA.2, Sea Harrier FA.2, BAe Hawk, Tornado with AMRAAM (CSP), or South African Gripen but damn it’d be nice. Give some teeth to the UK again

Finally i can use Bangladeshi camo

I hope both.

AJAX & T-90S would be a good update, with the T-90S filling the backup slot to the Challenger 1&2s

Bangladesh used MBT-2000

MBT-2000 written in Bangla.

So will the Gripen arrive this time of is it next uppdate?

Gripen & Tornado F3 with AMRAAMs are next, but both are 12.3 due to AMRAAMs.
So patience is required.

@ArmyKris1
If any 12.3 capable aircraft comes this update, Gripen will be among them most likely.

I hope so, currently stuck with the JA37D and i dont feel that it is capeble at that br, tho tbh the Gripen eaven without AMRAAMs would be fine to me

Why do I keep pulling the T90MS version, it is the export version and the first Proryv3 will appear in the game for sure

Maaaybe.
The UK has really only the following to make a competitive top tier jet:
Bae Hawk - Carried AIM-9Ls and AIM-120
Sea Harrier FA.2 - Carried AIM-9Ls, Possibly -9Ms and AMRAAM
Tornado CSP - Tornado F.3 with AMRAAMs, no other changes beyond radar I believe.
Tornado GR.4 - Ground attack aircraft, Brimstone launchers. Not A2A.
South African Gripen - AMRAAM capable
Eurofighter DA.2 - Pre-Production EF Typhoon demonstrator. Equipped with SRAAMs and AIM-9Ls. Possibly AMRAAM/Skyflash too though i’m unsure.
SAAF Atlas Cheetah - Essentially a Kfir/Mirage improvement. Python 3s.
Jaguar GR3 - Ground attacker, Helmet sight system with ASRAAM capability, only two shots though.
Eurofighter Typhoon - Production model - we wont see this until such times as F-22. Meteor missiles, outmatch everything.

There’s a variety to choose from and my list isn’t exhaustive, but there’s choice.
Just gotta be patient and see, but RAF aircraft and SAAF aircraft certainly go from dogshit to insanely powerful at the end of the cold war and may become the most powerful aircraft in WT by far.

The RAF also operated Alpha jet, too, albeit as chase aircraft. Though again - not exactly resolving the lack of A2A for RAF.

My bets?
The next competent fighter the UK tree will get is probably Gripen, alongside its addition to Sweden as the first SAAF aircraft.

Failing that - it could go two ways. Upgrading Tornado to use AIM-120A or B, or Pre-Production Eurofighter Typhoon.

Curveball entries could be BAe hawk, Sea Harrier FA.2 and Cheetah. The first two being subsonic AMRAAM slingers, and the third being not as powerful as the MiG-29, but still capable like the Mirage 2000C

I hope they have a Bangladeshi skin for it at a later point🫡

I feel like the f.3 CSP will just be changes to the current f.3 rather than a new vehicle, considering (afaik) one of the skins the f.3 has, is the livery of one of the last F.3 squadrons, which would’ve been upgraded to the CSP variant

I’m waiting for Durjoy to be added

Sort of. In the same way the Jaguar GR.1A has the Mary Rose skin (used by one of the final iterations of Jaguar - GR.3), the RAF has liveries that span across multiple generations.

Our Tornado F.3 is a Tornado F.3 Phase II, with its improved Foxhunter radar set. This one, while I believe is capable of AMRAAM mounting, would have used SuperTEMP primarily. The CSP project, would’ve been when the RAF extended the lifespan of Tornado, upgraded its interal avionics and ergonomics, fully adopted AIM-120 as the main armament of the airfleet, and changed the radar even further (I think!)

CSP is technically the same airframe, but the internals and wiring are different, warranting a different place in the tree, just like Jaguar GR1 vs GR1A.

I guess gajin might consider Gripen A or Gripen C (PS-05/A Mk.3 radar) without Rb.99 (AIM-120B) and without IRIS-T (Rb.98) on Gripen C, gajin could add AIM-120B (Rb.99) later

But Gripen C equipped helmet mounted display, Paveway II LGB, Enhanced Paveway II LGB & targeting pod

Hawk T1A carry 4 AIM-9L & unguided Air-to-Ground armament and could be rank VII but not sure place before or after Jaguar GR.1A

Harrier GR.9A - carry AIM-9L/AIM-9Li/AIM-9M, AGM-65G-2, Brimstone I, Sniper ATP modern targeting pod

Tornado F3 CSP with IR AAM AIM-9LI & ASRAAM and AIM-120B

I wonder Gripen C (SAAF) some different from Gripen C (Swedish Air Force) ?

Next step fighter aircraft toptier could add Eurofighter Typhoon DA2 or Eurofighter Typhoon F.2 after Tornado F3 CSP

As far as I know, SAAF have Gripen C, the same one confirmed by Gaijin a month ago or so to be coming this year.

Harrier GR.9A and Hawk would be cool though I think the UK needs supersonic dogfighters.
Tornado CSP would be decent, but still nowhere near the best given its essentially a bomber with A2A.

You’re probably right in thinking DA2 is the next top tier fighter we could get, owing to its real world grounding as a less capable EF, while still being great for the current game ecosystem.
I doubt we’ll see any full EF2000 variants anytime soon though. The sensors and equipment on the production airframes would be actually busted.

I’m thinking realistically -
Sea Harrier FA.2 - Amraam capable harrier for Royal Navy. Its not as powerful as if Tornado had AMRAAMs as you never achieve the speed needed for long toss launches, nor have the altitude for it.

Tornado CSP - It’s a bomber airframe but would have potentially the best missiles in game, on par with R-27ER
Glass cannon though as its extremely dogshit at handling.

Eurofighter DA.2 - Realistically, The eurofighter DA.2 would be the best fit. Gaijin could equip it only with SRAAMs or AIM-9Ls as that was the testbeds designed arsenal, it has full avionics and weapons capability, decent engines but not the production version (it uses Tornado engines, not EF2000s engines).
It would have an amazing radar, but…no radar missiles, unless Gaijin put Skyflash and AMRAAM on it - doubtful though as i’m unsure if DA2 ever mounted those.

Maybe a Canadian F-18 Hornet?
