the spike er 2 has a missle range of 16km, how the heck do u get to this many counters?, over half of the stuff you mentioned has not the range to reach a possible spike heli carrier, the short range LR 2 with 5.5km doesnt get used on helicopters

@oom1992 depends they could get f&f missles, but depends on the range, only reason why the pars 3 is allowed because of the relativ short range of 7km, if the missles get above 10km it is propably a no for now until better spaas for most nations are out

Mi-28NM doesn’t really need them since it has Vikhrs, but if the AH-64D got AGM-114L they could be a bit too broken.
However the Mi-28NM could get its radar and Khrizantemas modeled properly so the AGM-114L won’t be the only missile that will be able to hit targets behind smoke, making it more… I wouldn’t say balanced but rather other nations have similar weaponary.

Gaijin recently added ground tracking MTI to helicopters so we might be getting there sooner or later

The heli doesn’t need to be in range to be countered. If gaijin makes locking missiles more consistent, an SPAA like the OTOMATIC would be able to just lock onto the missile that has a predictable trajectory and low speed and shoot it out of the sky, making the helicopter unable to actually damage anything. Plus nobody is going to be firing spikes from 12km, it’s going to take probably minutes for the missile to impact the target from that range and unless you are in an open field with no cover whatsoever, the target will be lost or even die before your missile gets there

shooting down of missles etc, yes i wholy support this and can be relevant, but for this to realy work and make future vehicles relevant that specialize in this like the german skyranger as well we need rewards for the destruction of missles & bombs in the game to entice people that it is an important job to do.

And if you think no ones gonna fire them from 12km range then you realy underestimate the playerbase, they will do this if only to destroy camping spaas, which is the main job of the UHT already as well. As a comparison the spike has a missle speed of 160-180m/s, at the highest speed at max range 16000m / 180m/s = 88.88s, that is a bit over a minute, so it doesnt need multiple minutes like you said

At least AH-64D (US Army), AH-1Z (USMC) and AH-64D Saraph (IDF) could get new fire & forgot ATGM and might increase higher 11.7

You guess gajin might consider new Air-to-Ground missile and another precision-guided munition (PGM) range 18km-75km for aircraft rank 8 from other countries this year ?

AH-64D with AGM-114L would be 13.0 minimum with Ka-52 at 11.7.

helis can use cover and are way more protected, they can take way more ordenance as well

You get my point, over a minute of flight time. In that minute, unless you fire it at an SPAA thats really exposed and not moving, you aren’t going to hit anything. If you fire it at a tank, by the time the missile is close the tank will probably have moved behind a tree, a building or even a dead tank and the missile simply loses lock and self detonates

yes correct, but just like with the UHT, they are the most potent on desert maps, where it can be reliably done

I mean unless you get like Sands of Sinai, you won’t really be able to use spikes at long range. Heck, even in that map, people will probably die before your missile hits if they are in the open field side or if they are on the mountain they will probably get to cover

i mean that all is under the assumption that the lock is gonna stay like it currently is, spikes and theagml 114l do have better seekers then the pars 3 and shouldnt lose lock directly and self explode, depends how gajin implements it

Yeah that’s true but I doubt gaijin will change it. It’s balanced the way it now is, maybe if it could lock an exposed turret instead of having to see the entire tank would make it less annoying to use (at least for ground vehicles)

Beam riding missile are the meta and always will be. Vikhrs & Atakas & Krizantemas already can shoot through smoke, tree and foliage. Something the Ah-64D can only dream of. And lets not forget how Vikhrs are so much more effective against spaas, helis, drones a jets.
We don’t even know how will they model the AGM114L, but judging by literally every FnF in the game, it gonna be junk. They can also limit AGM114L to just 8x but god forbid US helis would be playable or even competitive to Ka52&28NM

Honestly, can’t wait for gaijin to properly model Khrizantemas on helis. The tradeoff in range and lack of proxy compared to the Vikrhs could make them somewhat balanced even if they can technically reliably hit targets through smoke

They can also add modernized Vikhrs with more range and penetration, that would be most likely even more op than slow ahh agm114l

Don’t forget though, 114L is fire and forget AND can track through smoke and foilage.

if i read it right i wouldnt have a problem with the Krizantemas if their range is 6km it would be more balanced then the vikhers since more stuff and even auto cannons would be able to reach

@Stray_BulletsCze they could add modern version of a lot of weapons and just decimate ka 50/52 as well , vikhrs currently certainly dont need an upgrade any time soon

Vikhrs can already shoot through smoke. If you crit tank’s mobility and he smokes, you can still easily kill him. Vikrs can also aim for weakspots, ammo, CITV, turret roofs that can guarantee OHK. For some reason hellfires have much worse damage and hitting same spots as with Kriz., Atakas and Vikhrs do NO damage at all
