in modern combat you must shoot the tanks from more far , modern tanks are have accurate fire power and range finders and systems and a perfect engine , moving fast and shooting accurately … ( Analysis the 21st century wars )

Gen 3-4 Tanks made for Destroy enemy armor from far , its necessary to fight against an enemy tank in close fight

We Got Sepv3 recently and T90M , they are not normal tanks , they engage from so far
Best Camera and computers and kits for calculations the where shell will land…

Up Tier need bigger maps , even 2x bigger than Red Dessert

but gaijin felt we love fighting like zombies, we want actions ,…
fast matches , fast grind likely, director said this in Q&A 2025


Current maps are perfect for BR 1 to 7 ( WW2 )

BR 7 to 10 its normal

but the Up Tier …
Nightmare

1- 5 SPAA camp in one spot there is no any space , they dont have enough safe zone to place their launchers cuz they gonna be easy targets
2- a CAS could wipe the team in one second when we dont have any AA
3- a helicopter could send rocket Rain to spawn points randomly to get kill the all AA’s
4- after 5 minute of start of battle your team could surround the enemy spawn point


who love action and fast matches , must play arcade
ground realistic matches of Up tier looks like arcade mode now , but we couldn’t see them directly with their name behind wall , but Drones help’s btw

Arcade = fast and small Map’s
Realistic = Slow and Big Map’s and a little more prize to respect the time play if needed

If this weakness is fixed, playing at Up Tier will become more bearable.

true , its started from ww2 , But it was completed during the Cold War and experiences were used.
lets dont talk about human factors in Russian tanks

Even the small maps are too cramped for WW2 vehicles. Maps like European province is what we should have for ww2 ranks.

I do agree with the problem with War Thunder maps being too small, and the problem with them not trying to add bigger maps is because of package size I did say due to them having to accommodate air spawn and etc, I feel like having a ground only mode would fix this problem and we can also can have bigger ground maps for BRs like cold war and top tier, also fix the problem of broken SPAA and CAS spam.

Both arcade and realistic modes should have larger and open maps for the higher tier vehicles. It’s not just the size of the map that is a problem, it’s the type of map as well. A large urban map still negates the ability of high tier vehicles to engage targets at long distances. The discussion of map size and type for higher tiers has been discussed for quite a while now. Nothing has been done about it.

Matches are too short, and usually too one sided, for dozer blades to matter.

We would need some more varied objective based mission types and longer matches at the very minimum

An attack/defend mode similar to the “Advance” mode test from a few years ago would work perfectly for that. Even something that isn’t just capturing a point that the other team is also capturing would be such a big upgrade in gameplay quality.

As for the maps, the biggest issue isn’t size, but it’s more the routes/spots you can go.
Advance to the Rhine feels like a huge map for what it is because of how many places/different routes you can take, while something like Sun City has a fraction of that despite being 4x larger. Maps like Attica also fail to adequately give players choice in how they move around, instead funnelling players into a few set areas. This also makes camping significantly worse/more powerful, while also forcing tanks to act in roles they aren’t suited for.

Some good maps are Fulda, Advance to the Rhine, Maginot, the Arctic maps, and that one desert/dune part of El Alamein are all excellent because they allow players to move around, while also allowing defensive and offensive positions.

Other maps like Sun City, Attica, American Desert, Finland, and Seversk all end up funnelling players into a specific area and have more open spaces/empty gameplay areas.

I don’t care what people wants to play, it’s been somewhat clear they don’t even know what they want at this point (voting in favor of more modules but then complaining about Gaijin’s way of implementation), make bigger maps for the actual doctrinal usage of modern MBTs, it’s time to stop with the 200m engagements with near hypersonic darts.
