great, so we agree. lets remove all MGs from MBTs and LTs.
they dont need to use them against aircraft since MBTs and LTs should fight ground
my last three most meorable games were just that. before i and my team turned the tables and won. so no. i disagree. and there are so many more instances o this
Yep, and while we’re at it also keep them like shotguns. So guns that are incredibly precise and reliable IRL can’t hit the broad side of a barn at range. So CAS isn’t bothered by them either unless they have proxy.
The folks complaining about the APHE change. Remember when the community voted for “detailed interiors”, and since then GJN has only abused that to nerf some tanks. Make questionable choices, and many tanks still lack them entirely. Each time someone complains there the go to is “Well, the community voted for it.”
You have no idea how the APHE change would’ve turned out, and if it had been bad you would’ve complained that the community voted in favour of it instead.
Really depends on the SPAA. Auto cannons, including AA auto cannons have been regularly used to fight vehicles and infantry. They’re surprisingly good at doing so. It’s also why some like the Gepard carry APDS. Hell, the Gepard 1A2 uses exclusively FAPDS because it can be used against most targets.
And let’s ignore the gun dispersion on the Oerlikons, which is absolutely ridiculous. Because if they were as accurate as they are IRL and could actually hit CAS folks would complain about that too. Not that some aren’t already doing that.
And no the game isn’t over because some Rat tank snuck behind enemy lines. Hell on some maps you can shoot into enemy spawn from almost your spawn at the right angle in the right position.
yes in real life they can defend themselves, but in WarThunder people are abusing the crap out of it. If you want to let these SPAA rule 8.3 and lasering every light tank and medium tank cupola then I have nothing to say.
I also abuse this and it’s so funny that even IS7, T10, etc doesn’t stand a chance against an SPAA and I see how dumb it is and maybe get it reworked
Detailed interiors too. APHE change could’ve gone any possible way, and so far those the community voted in favour of all turned out bad. And the same folks now argue that “well, you are at fault for voting for them!”. I doubt the APHE change would’ve made stuff better, potentially worse.
You mean they are using what vehicle was made for?
I play around 8.3 and have no issue with SPAAs. If You want a change to how armor works, then ask for it instead of nerfing what vehicle is capable in real life.
So you use bad, awful, terrible logic to try to remove spaa based on “they are spaa!!! they should only shoot air!!” but when presented that irl this is not the case (irl is the ONLY thing you could have been referring to with your previous statement) then it’s something else?
You can fix the current spaa situation without making them ENTIRELY USELESS in war thunder by removing their ability to participate in the ground battle.
Wat? The only ones genuinely suffering at 8.3 are the nations who have virtually no armor for their vehicles. Germany, Italy, some light vehicles. The US, Russia and co usually have more than enough ammo to tank the enemy frontally and diagonally. Only times you get vaporized there is when you got completely flanked.
If you drive around an IS-7 and struggle against SPAAs claiming to “have no chance against them” I don’t believe you at all.
One day, just one damn day without people coping and lying about the proposed APHE changes…
It was tested, twice. (Dance of Dragons, DEV-Server)
Hit analysis with the proposed changes selectable.
Event-mode with the proposed changes
2/3 of the proposed changes are even implemented already, as gaijin didnt make a vote/test for them;
Increase of the APHE fragmentation damage to solid-shot values
The projectile continues traveling further after striking modules (such as engines)
The third proposed change aimed to re-work the fragmentation distribution over certain angles.
There was a vote to test the mechanic, which ended with 52 : 48% against the tests, which were conducted afterwards anyway.
They do not solve any of the “SPAA issues”, cupola sniping wasnt removed and the reduced amount of consistency & damage would not affect any of the common offenders (any spaa w/ 35 mm KDA cannons).
One or two DM 13 shells doing less damage doesnt matter, as the guns fire at 550 rpm each, 3/4 shells are API-T, which amounts to 412,5rds/min or ~6,75 API-T shells per second per barrel.
So could we perhaps stop acting as if the aphe rework is the solution to all problems instead of gaslighting others into believing it would do anything but screw over regular tanks?
