Some aircrafts and helicopters have the possibility to spam the battlefield of their missiles without really aiming and leaving the spawn.
Which allow them to shoot all right after take off and land for an immediat rearming.
So we often see situations where those missiles spamming occur almost every minuts.
I had situations where I had to shoot at 10 to 15 missiles
My SAMPT got 16 missiles, 32 with the reload of ammo boxes.
By the logic, they do, they can rearm on the points. Infinitely
So perhaps the better argument / phrasing would be a re-arm point near-ish the spawn just for SPAA? That would serve much like the Airfield does for aircraft? I agree the ammo boxes arent enough. (though my experience comes more from the Rapier needing 4+ missiles per target and only having 16 with the ammo box)
A fun/interesting way to do this could be “resupply drops” that allow SPAA to replenish their ammo boxes (allow a max of 2-3, so even if you have one, you can stockpile a bit) , instead of just a boring “stand in this zone and get magic ammo” mechanic. These supply drops could appear in a few locations, so that SPAA cant sit AFK on them, but would be “behind friendly lines” and thus far safer than trying to jump onto a cap zone
Combine with moving heli pads further away from the battlefield to force commute time for the top tier FnF helis that can quite happily attack from near the heli pads and ideally also move the airfields further away too and it should mitigate the “infinite ammo” thing you are describing by adding a delay between take off and firing at something
Would be nice to have bigger maps so we can have FOBs (far from the battlefield) as bases to resuply without exploiting spamming missiles from spawn and not risking going to the frontlines to get more ammo.
Or maybe make able spaa to “travel” by tp to the helipad and rearm there, pretty far from the battlefield and when done tp back with a cooldown of 1 min for another tp.
Yes but you know you will loose your vehicule by bringing it in such a dangerous area.
It would be safe only when the ennemy team is almost done, but that usually means there is no more CAS to intercept, and the end of the game is pretty close.
So no, we can’t say they have infinite ammo at capture points because they can’t reach it.
For sure I believe the new complex SPAA vehicules (IRST SAMPT etc) should be able to spawn, or at least move out of the tank battlefield.
On many map it’s not possible to move outside the spawn without being safe. And so, CAS with fire and forget weapons can just spamm the spawn area without being in danger
They have long range missiles, making them able to be few kms out side of the battlefield
Gameplay would be a bit harder of CAS but not unplayable. You would just need to search more (RWR will help), instead of slaving your TGP on the spawn of the map by a simple click
