Not to imply that I don’t want to cap. I’m normally the first one there, but frequently I’m the only one on my side capping, where 3 or more enemy are there. (Doesn’t seem to matter which nation I’m playing at the time, either, except that some nations don’t really have fast light tanks.)
Happily, I’m already leaving rounds at the drop of a hat. I’m not going to keep fighting for a team I don’t enjoy. If the other side has 3 tanks at the capzone to just me, I don’t have any problem leaving my team and looking for a better match.

Who gives the first step tend to dies first, survival instinct. Specially for single cap maps.
Rushing to the cap zone ain’t the same as winning a match, there’s a lot of things to consider before going to a cap zone. What BR are we generally talking about? Because top and mid/low tier are very different in ways of playstyles and how capture/zones are involved.

Mid BRs. (around 5 to 7)
If I get there, and it’s one me and 3 enemy, I just decide I was on the wrong team for that match and bail.
(After taking as many enemy with me as I can, and trying to scout the others too!)
Your frustration is understandable, but maybe you should try a different approach. I personally don’t like rushing straight to a capture point as soon as the game starts, purely because it doesn’t fit my playstyle, however its not like I want to lose the game. I like flanking and finding ways to disrupt the enemy team from getting to said capture point, and if the map allows it and I don’t die in between (which sometimes happens) I will find a spot in between the capture point and the enemy spawn and just stay in there trying to take down as many as I can before I die and reallocate if I get tracked, giving my team a chance to capture the points and push forward.
Since you’re an enjoyer of fast/light vehicles and you’re playing at a mid br (5-7), perhaps its time for you to think “outside the box” and push beyond the capture point and just go around and disrupt their movements as well, vehicles such as the M18 and the Fox for example are perfect for that, although it really will depend on what nations you’ve been playing/having hard times with. I’ve won games against the odds (half the team leaves), but I’ve had my share of losing too, its really a coinflip, but if you can keep a good performance and do your best in most games you should win more matches than lose.

Depends. If they are not capping in general, that sucks. But i am not going to complain that my team isnt just rushing to the mid cap.
I would rather they secure the flanks before getting the cap even if that means the other team has that cap for a minute or so.
Getting the cap means nothing if they let the enemy get the flanks and cut off spawn.

I only capture zones when I can and allowed. Most of the time, I let the team cap, then I just defend it or decap and bait the enemy team in or decap and leave the area to save matches. Rushing in to be the 1st to cap in zones where they are evenly separated from spawn will result in instant death a 1 vs 3+ scenario. Also really depends on the nation/vehicle one is using.
Overall, just don’t rush anymore to cap zones or change the playstyle. Eventually if ya play it right, ya can turn it around and become the victor.

Many of the games at lower tier are about fast light vehicles capping straight away to give access to CAS so I am seeing the opposite,it’s a rush to cap.
Secondly a fast light vehicle getting to the cap before you doesn’t have to take the CAP, it can sit and wait for a mug to come in and hit those thinking the cap is empty because its not changing colour.
I guess third, who wants to capture cap just to be bombed and killed? Maybe losing CAS would bring about a series of tactical changes but I guess that is another post for another time.I suppose that could be avoided if you couldn’t see a CAP being taken on the mini map and unless you were there watching it.

It’s bad right now because of the event, I think. I see a lot of people camping far back and just trying to get easy snipes on people who are moving between cover rather than attempt to stop the enemy from taking the cap points and winning. If you’re the kind of person who struggles to get 5 kills in one game and you just got a new premium and have no supporting tanks, it makes sense to glue yourself to a defensible position and just hope things go your way.

It’s often times more profitable to go for kills than to waste time capping, often times, capping is a 1-way trip (e.g Seversk-13 C point)

How many players are like that in this game?
Considering how many are running just a newly-bought premium… many.
but they are most likely not new players
