There is a reason to smoke the cap, if you are under heavy fire and your gunner/loader is out. But most of the time they smoke because they are selfish players that want to get the cap reward alone. I hate it if they do that.
But even worse are the 1 IQ people that smoke up the spawn immidiatly after the game starts. Worst enemy is the enemy in blue.

That! But i have the impression that some of them use wallhacks. What other explanation makes sense for that behaviour?
Its a valid tactic on certain maps and cap points. You’re required to hang around on the point while you cap it so if you’re worried about incoming fire why not smoke it? Additionally, with so many single point
maps now it can make it very difficult for the enemy to take the point. That said, if its a point on your side of the map and there’s no reason to smoke or if someone starts smoke right out of spawn that’s usually against his own time and yes its a shame we can’t team kill on the ground anymore…
