I just realised chinese/russian tanks mbt’s are the only ones that get LRF at rank 2 of their modifications tree, but all the NATO tanks get it at rank 4, isnt that like a big difference talking about top tier? More if u play in large maps, i think it makes sense, wouldnt it be more fair if all got lrf at rank 2 or all at rank 4?
To sumarize, i dont think russian bias or things like that exist lol, i just saw this and im like wth is going on, the problem about non pen in russian tanks is because of the volumetric problem wich wont be solved
What? Laser Range Finder at Rank 2??? ( LRF? u mean )?
It’s def not all of NATO tanks getting it at tier 4, but certainly a good chunk of them
Some do get it at rank 2 and 3
But yeah overall the chinese and russian tanks are mostly getting them at Rank 2 it seems
Rank 2 of the modification tab
Yep, in the modifications
U are right, tbh all the top tier should get LRF at stock since they irl have it lol, just like thermals and the nvd
Like Arctic-Fox said, some NATO LRFs are rank 2 or 3, and it doesn’t really matter in my eyes if you give the less versatile tanks earlier LRFs as compensation, besides, how often is top tier actually large maps? It seems like at least 70% smaller ones from my experience
But then people would spend less GE skipping the grind which they don’t want
for top tier, i don’t think it matters that much since tanks get APFSDS as stock in Tier 8 if i remember correctly, making long range battles a bit easier
Tier 7 is more of an issue since HEAT-FS is usually the stock there, making ranged battles horrible, especially against Russian and Chinese tanks that got ERA, basically the main 2 nations benefitting from others being stock
At higher tiers, pinpoint shots on armor are more important. You dont need long ranges to make use of LRF, even a 400m shot can make a huge difference if you a just a few inches off
Ngl, LRF helps a lot, more when u are a tank with a really bad gun like the 10.7 abrams, when u are playing in it u gotta make every shot count because every fail will make u die soooo as i said, the real fair thing would be to everyone to have the same options
Only if you’re up against something with small weakspots like T-80s and the like, I personally find estimating drop off pretty simple with APFSDS shells either way
Quite true quite true ngl, im f2p and i know gaijin greed is unstopable, they fr are going to sell copy paste tech tree tanks for 69$ lol
Then try to play more carefully? I think it’s not hard to change positions and be unexpected with how fast even a stock Abrams is. I agree completely that we shouldn’t have to grind these things in the first place, though
Earlier LRF on russian tanks means more Abrams turret ring shots
Dont make me remember rank 7 please, i hated every freaking heatfs lol
They dont really need it either, I usually just guesstimate my shots vs. Abrams’ and Leopards even if i have a LRF since their hulls are overall weak and I prefer throwing a shot in rather than waiting half a second extra
Was just an example, LRF is really important when u need to shot to small weak points, think about only weak point of russian tanks are optics, driver optic, and lfp while u are almost made of paper xD
It’s funny when you’re so used to APDS or APFSDS at that point that when you need to go back to the HEAT-FS, you completely misjudge the drop because of the worse velocity and proceed to miss by like a solid hundred meters or so
