To put it as simple as possible (Team 1 is attackers, Team 2 is defenders)
1 team consists of coastal ships. Frigates, torpedo boats, those types of things.
Team 2 consists of blue water ships.
Team one is tasked with trying to get from 1 side of the map to the other. Using terrain, weapons, and numbers to push through the enemy.
Team 2 is tasked with destroying all of team 1’s ships and keeping them from getting to the other side of the map. (Now that we all got the idea, lets talk details!)
So, for this mode, Theres 2 kinda rough idea’s for how to balance this.
First is a quantity vs quality style. Instead of 16v16, its now 28vs4.
Team 1 stays the same generally. Same coastal ships with no real restrictions. Spawns are unlimited to the player, But do take from the maximum pool of available respawns. (Respawn timer is reduced to 3 seconds as well.) If the map is large enough, Their spawns will move up whenever they reach a certain point.
Team 2 has every blue water ship available to them. (That they’ve unlocked) They have a respawn timer of 15 seconds and respawn from the back of the map.
Pretty simple i think. Not to terrible if the map isn’t straight up just 30km of ocean and gives something that isn’t {death circle number 369}
So, onto the second variation. The match is now 16vs16.
Team 1 Still has coastal ships with no restrictions. Unlimited respawns but this time no pool to reduce from. Spawn as many times as you want with only SL being drained. They’re still trying to get from point A to point B.
This time they have assistance from a.i. such as coastal batteries, A.i. Planes and other A.i. Naval ships.
Team 2 is now limited to destroyers and lower (With high end destroyers costing SP). Spawning from the back of the map and still trying to keep team a from Point B. However, Team B now has the assistance of Super heavy artillery(Also Costing SP). Depending on map, They can also spend SP on Inland Convoys, Landing craft, and aircraft to attack and/or deploy to a certain area to soften up shore defenses and coastal ships.
So, thats mainly it. just something i took 5 minutes to think of but might be something decent if anyone improves upon this.
You guys got any suggestions, ideas, improvements?
