Ok, I don’t think anyone from gaijin will see this but I am desperate. This pay to play, yes PAY TO PLAY games economy has got to be the most disgustingly, egregious, and unfair shit I’ve ever seen. I get 1 kill and 1 assist for a match, then get missled out of the sky by an uptier, get 7000 sl for it, then have a repair cost of 12000 for the A4-E early. Its IMPOSSIBLE to earn money in this game without buying a premium account or plane. Repair costs are bullshit, and should not even exist in a game like this. (whoever thought of this idea genuinely never played their own game before.) You simply cannot get money in this game unless you own a premium plane or account. Id rather pay $40 for a game with no premium and an actual fair economy that doesn’t make it IMPOSSIBLE for F2P players to earn money. I know this post will get absolutely nowhere, but I just needed to vent my anger and frustration over this games inability to fairly reward players with enough money to actually progress in the game.
A post from 2022.
Good joke. It was fixed a while ago.
I fully F2P’d Italy, France and Japan. France and Italy BEFORE economy wad fixed. It isn’t bad.
Well… what is your expectation? That u can play a Grindbased game for free without suffering? Maybe set your expectations right. That could help.
But about the P2W… yes it is and it is also imbalanced… but for your 40$ you get a whole year of Premium account if you buy on one of the Big sales.
(Społeczność Steam :: Poradnik :: The Event and Sale Calendar)
Btw, the calculation for SL and other stuff goes like this:
100 SL Base x Modifier of the Vehicle x2 if you have a Prem acc x2 for your earnings of the Prem Vehicle.
7.000 SL Base x 300% x 2 x 2 = 84.000 SL
Yes its stupid how gaijin calculates… but an Prem Acc gives you a x2 and a Prem tank gives you x2 again, wich results in a x4.
And you can get some Premium Vehicles pretty fairly easy by the Seasonpass, Warbond shop or the Events.
Ofc the better you play the easer it will be to do these.
Lol… before economy was “fixed” …
thats a good joke…
a few years back planes costed 45k and no one cared, cause everyone got like 2-3x the amount of SL.
They nerved the hell out of it and then they did exaklty one single “buff” that dosnt weight in as much as the nerves…
why do people always only remeber the very last action and forget what happened before?
If you aren’t paying for the game then you are the product being served to Paying customers who keep it running.
We thank you for your sacrifice.
I don’t want to be like a scratched disk repeating what the others said, though I must appreciate that; but going further in other points: repair time is like a counterweight thing, it must exist or the idea of monetization in War Thunder, a free-to-play game go down in the water. It’s a needed thing for the game’s environment even if it doesn’t benefit the player in any way, but otherwise, causes harms and we had problems with repair prices causing bankruptcy to a few players in negative Silver Lions.
Unfortunately as a free-to-play game, War Thunder has clear distinguision between players who pay for premium accounts and the player who doesn’t, it’s clear by the rewards and benefits given to the guy that spent some dollars. Though I don’t think you’re going to find some good game, specially multiplayer for raw $40, unless it’s a very niche Indie game with some absurd theme like Butt Knight or some other crazy stuff.
Yes, im aware it was broken, but then once repairs were “Fixed” they still cost more after the “buff” then before the nerf. And congrats you FTP the game and spent thousands of hours on an unrewarding economic system, but I simply am not no life enough to do that.
Ok thanks for this I actually did not know how they calculated this. Im upset I may have to buy into this awful PTW system, but it is very rewarding.
Even though i am anti most of what gaijin does…
Its also fairly simple and possible for everyone (as long as ure acc is PC) to use the Gaijin Marketplace to earn some Gaijin Dollars.
With Gaijin Dollars you can buy everythink, as they are 1:1 worth a dollar/euro.
Even if the grind is to much work for you, to get Eventstuff/Seasonpass stuff to sell it, you could invest like 20 Bucks into it, buying smt that is lowprice and just wait a few month till it gets more expensive.
Thats the way i do it. Still not enough to buy everythink, but good enough to get me like 20 Prems, 40 Talis and Prem acc for 6+ Years. (all bought only on Sale ofc)
Once you have build up enough to get Prem Acc + a Prem Vehilce Deck with 2-3 Prem Vehicles that makes fun and gives you a very Solit amount of SL (check the Reward modifiers, some Rank III have a super low one), you firstly stop having SL issues and secondly can even earn more GJN Dollars, as you will have spare SL to buy these 60k SL crates, that one in 500 have a Coupon that u can Sell again on the Marketplace.
So in the end, if you smart and stay for a while, you can set up your very own Machinery to never run out of GJN and being able to Buy your way through the most painly parts of the game.
It’s clearly possible as many F2P players does just that.
