Ground simulator battles are honestly in a pretty bad spot right now,
Here’s some of the main issues.
-Teamkilling, there is nothing stopping people from teamkilling teammates, whether it’s on “accident” or on purpose.
There should be something like a karma system to Incentivise people to use their brain to decide whether the Centauro is Soviet/Chinese or not.
-No variety in matchmaking,
There should be more variety in the nation matchmaking configuration sides, instead of just Nato vs. USSR/China.
There are almost allways more people queueing with allied nations than with the Communist ones.
Therefore I think there should be more configurations available, such as the USA vs. Germany, UK and France vs. Germany and Italy.
I understand that that wouldn’t simulate “real-life scenarios”, but it would help balance the queue more. And allies vs soviets and china just gets really boring.
To pull more people there could be like 20% rp and sl bonus reward on the first 5 matches played every day.
ground sim is a terrible terrible experience.
From cas killing your team in the first 3 minutes, to abrams team killing other abrams, all the way to long queue times and limited lives.
Not to mention the blatant imbalance between teams (as can be seen in winrates)
For ground sim to be fun, they need to shift towards either GRB with the spawn point system or Air sim with a (controlled) mixed team and player created lobbies
That’s recognition, a issue that every player will face, regardless of their skill level, a penalty for teamkilling, accidental or not is already fair with the Silver Lions penalty.
Open matchmaking for any vehicle, ability to create rooms based on the day’s rotation is more than enough to improve simulator ground battles, in my personnal opinion the main factor stopping people from playing simulator ground battles is this stupid matchmaking Gaijin pulled out of their arses.
War Thunder is not realistic, forcing these pseudo-realistic scenarios just worsen the experience. To justify it simulator ground battles would require massive overhaul; such as working optics, radio, maps, markers, asset, game mode and so on, something I doubt Gaijin is willing to do; is rather surprising they’re working on submarines, for 2 years or more.
Regarding team killing, the penalty should go directly from the killer to the victim. Currently, the killer pays a penalty, but that money goes nowhere. This is a problem in situations where you have 2 kills and are waiting to get ‘useful actions’ if you are killed by a teammate, you lose it (you don’t get the full useful action reward).
That’s not fair. If you are killed by a teammate, you should get the full ‘useful action’ credit plus the Silver Lions penalty that they paid. You shouldn’t be punished for someone else’s lack of experience. Another issue is ‘J-ing out,’ but this topic has been discussed here a million times and no one is doing anything about it.
Simulator is at the point beyond saving.
