Would you like to have the ability to customize your Sim EC matches (with reasonable limitations)?
My idea is to let players choose settings such as time of day, weather, season, and possibly enable placeholder bots to improve matchmaking.
The goal of bots would not be for RP farming — they would simply act as temporary fillers so the match can start immediately once there is at least one real player on each team. Each side would spawn with one low-impact bot. When a new player joins a team, the bot on that team is automatically removed. This continues until both teams are at the minimum poplulation to start with real players.
This would help solve two major Sim EC issues:
Lobby inactivity — many players leave the queue because the match never starts. Placeholder bots ensure the match begins, which makes players more likely to join and stay.
Unfavorable weather — extreme or poor weather conditions often cause players to leave. Allowing customizable weather would let players set conditions that are playable and enjoyable, keeping matches active and reducing dropouts.
If you like this idea, please share the thread link on Reddit, Discord, and other communities to help it gain traction so I can eventually propose it to Gaijin properly. More visibility = a higher chance they take it seriously.
Yeah who knows if this is even able to get enough votes, Gaijin would still need to implement it… Who knows how long that would take if it even happened at all.
Weather really needs to be a customizable feature in matches. I have pancaked into the ground more times than I can count thanks to those thick clouds. On top of that, adverse weather often renders many guided munitions ineffective, limiting their intended use.
exactly that and yeah you can see the type of weather and then back out of the lobby to get a diff type of weather, but it would be so much easier to just let us customize the lobby, minus a few things.
Exactly I’m tired of having to try and start a match and then leave because of the crappy weather. and as probably every other Sim player hates these types of weather too.
Yes they are? I have sat for an hour trying to create a game only to not get into it because we could only ever get 3 players including me. Do you play sim at all??
Then how is this not something you would want to see? Have you never tried to host your own game? All they asked was for each team to have 3 bots when u first start the match so that you can start games, and then to remove said bots when players join
