Silver Lion gain nerfed with the Tusk Force update

In case you missed it, Gaijin has quietly nerfed Silver Lion (SL) income by making some rewards harder to achieve in Realistic and Simulator battles.

The Heavy Metal Hero award requirement was raised from 6 → 10 kills, which is a huge jump in difficulty.
For reference:

  • Heavy Metal Fury → 1,000 SL
  • Heavy Metal Hero → 5,000 SL

The change is tucked away in the full release notes (not the summary):

Impact in practice:

  • Top reward will now be far rarer → effectively a 4k SL + multiplier loss
  • More frequent re-rolls of daily/special tasks → extra SL drain

With how easy it is to get 6 frags in ground realistic battles, it was weird that it was significantly easier than air tasks of the same caliber.

You aren’t getting a 26 frag match in realistic air, because there’s no respawn system.

not the SL economy is extremley inflated to the point that this doesnt matter or anything

Because air and ground make the same rewards right?

What? SL is an extreme problem for many players.

For SL I don’t think there’s a major difference (however it does vary a lot depending on the vehicles you use and your skill level). However in ASB the SL gains are atrocious. For RP air probably has double the overall RP games for similar performing matches than ground, AND that will air having nerfed RP gains due to RP being tied directly to match length.

I don’t see any need to change these rewards, because making them harder to get is blatantly an anti-player action for no reason.

difference in what?? I was not comparing anything…

it will make the gain from the unstoppable wager less too

This one is already extremely difficult to max out !

I’m a good player, and I always trade these back in!

I’ll update the initial post too, thanks for pointing it out !

EDIT: actually, it doesn’t, since you can validate the wager with “Heavy Metal Fury” - your SL gain is still lower, though !

There was no need to change these rewards.

If, for whatever reason, they wanted to use the multipliers (like x3 in SB), they should have put x3 for realistic too, it would have kept them very alike, but now it’s a major nerf.

Now, it does make a substantial difference, because it’s not “just 4k SL”, you have to apply the multiplier !
So, with 1 premium vehicle and 1 premium account, you’re already looking at ~12k loss per award!

It’s not 6 frags: it’s 6 frags AND be the top player - which is much harder to achieve.

Well, now it’s 10 !

The last time I did this math, the rewards came out within margin of error.

Two average matches, the ground match was slightly better and got slightly more rewards out of it; but both are for the most part equally average matches.

What a joke. Any player thats played for more than two weeks can tell you air progresses much faster than ground.

11k SL gains
7k SL repair costs
= 4k net profit…

Ground progresses faster than air for me, because I’m better at ground than air.
Air progressed faster than ground for me for a while because I was better at air than ground.

Being better in one mode will get you more rewards in that mode.

Well, I just wanted to make sure you all got informed.

Not you can make better decisions! ;)

No, it doesn’t. See: Reality.

no its not lmfao. Even when i was a new trash player i never was short of SL t buy the next tank

I am a top 5% player in ground and a top 3% player in air. The only reason I tell you this is because I have never not had SL issues from day 1. You not having issues likely stems from you not having the exact same way of playing the game as everyone else and your particular way of playing saves SL. See: Playing one vehicle ad nauseam.

I ground all the way to top tier before going back to vehicles i found i liked. so i pretty much beelined straight to the top over about a year of playing on and off. Only when i started experting crews did i start to run short on SL. and now its only the gambling crates that bankrupt me.
