up tiers happen all the time, i think you are so hyped up for the booster your just noticing it more. Ive played multiple matches where im uptiered in succession with no booster on. the " booster curse " is not real. I had a 500% booster on and was able to bomb 6 bases in a match, i’ve had a 20% booster on and got killed before being able to get one shot off.
I bet there have been several matches where you were uptiered and didnt even notice, but as soon as you put a booster on you suddenly pay attention and think there is some gottcha mechanic to it. Its all in your head and if you think they put things in the game code to " get into your wallet " why are you still playing the game?
To put this in perspective:
When I want a downtier in say air RB with a booster, I will grab 6.3. Why? Cause 7.3 is more popular, and 5.7 is extremely popular. But 6.3 is barely popular in air RB.
It’s not a guarantee, but if I play 10 matches of 6.3, I’ll never see 7.3, and I might see 7.0 once or twice.
Soviet 9.3s is pretty mid, just crew T-64B and play 9.7 as you will see 10.3 so often that your 9.7s are seeing the same enemies the 9.3s are seeing. They do have a the most vehicles in that br bracket but most are nothing special except to watch out for the BMD-4 ambush lol
My reference to apophenia was a hint that individual perceptions are highly subjective - not more, not less.
I have zero doubts that the MM and the game mechanics as a whole are tools to keep players in the flow zone (which includes success and failures), but imho the effects you describe are (if actually implemented) not really decisive for the setup and outcome of your matches.
Steering individual success by up- and downtiers, nation allocation and skill distribution between both teams have imho a way higher priority for gaijin.
I had several 500% boosters (for free) running smoothly through, whilst others were wasted; the challenge is always to choose the “right” aircraft. This is usually your plane with your highest WR which enables you to score no matter how bad the circumstances are.
Regarding waiting for a lost game in case you have a win streak is the same like playing Roulette and waiting for red after 13 times black; my longest win streak was 23 wins in a row - until i got allocated to an US/Israel team with 4 P-51s, 5 Sakeens and 3 B-25s in a 4.3-3.3 match…
Again, instead of speculating, obtain verifyable data:
Measure you queue time with a lineup without a booster for say 5 games and then pop the big booster. Then measure the queue time for it, and for a few games after.
Report.
I mean its pretty obvious this isn’t a thing Gaijin does purposely. There’s no reason to, as most people aren’t going to rage and buy SL over a few losses. Probably the BR bracket you’re playing isn’t populated and leads to uptiers or downtiers.
If it is obvious, then please post your data that supports the zero-hypothesis. If we are going to investigate if there is measurable influence on the booster games and not just nervousness of the players, we need to observe objective data, not just gut feeling.
So please, why not check queue times in random battles before/with/after the booster? If the booster forces a special match making, you might catch it in the duration of the queue.
Ive recieved exactly the kind of answers and in the same vein as when I said something was going wrong with the Mig23 ML, and it was…it seems the majority of the posts most of the game masters and moderators respond to are the ones concerning complaints about Gaijin…and this is understandable. But you never hardly see your responses when people are talking about planes in battle, rarely.
However, it seems from your perspectives Gaijin is perfect and flawless, and there is never anything wrong at all, and no I do not have a stat sheet or data link to prove this…it is just my opinion, and I do not believe Im wrong.
Always know this Necronomica, I am not a rude person, at least I do not perceive myself to be, and so though we may never meet except in this “virtual enviroment”, your opinions and answers are always valued. I can tell you are intelligent and love this game.
I have been playing since Beta and though we will prob never meet, we do meet in this Community.
I am a travelling nurse and so I play 70% of the year at hotels that do not have very good internet, I have great att fiber internet at home, and I get frustrated at times and maybe have a couple of days off, and imbibe with a nice bottle of wine.
Your opinions are valued and respected…and good luck to you, I do not really understand your Nickname, but I do know the derivative of “necro” has to do with death…and it is death I am trying to deal to the enemy as well
Good Luck Mate and dont take my comments as personal attacks on you, I am a better student of humanity than that. Your replies to anybody are always well worded and thought out.
Im just posting it here because I couldnt figure out the “messaging” arena…I will check in on the moble app to get my daily bonus, but bro we talked about maybe a squadron teammate and you said it only takes an hour a day…well broo I cant do that, thats a lot of time playing a game,…
But let me ask you this,…if I load up my Germans, which I WILL DEFINATELY, get at least 10-15 in an arcade battle, would you invite me to be your mate on YOUR SQUAD.
I just cant play an hour a day, Im at a place now where i play, prob an hour a week.
In that one hour, I f…smash, because I flew props for so long, a dogfight is nothing to me in Arcade.
There’s only three foolproof ways to avoid uptiers.
1: play top tier. You can’t be uptiered if you are at the top.
2: play customs. You can set the BRs that you want.
3: don’t play the game. As Miyagi once said: “best defence, no be there.”
