Show target numbers next to bases in Air Battles

The problem
I suggest adding unique identifiers to bombing bases in Air Battles. These identifiers should be visible both in the game world and on the tactical map.

Currently, several bombers can attack the same base without knowing that another player is already targeting it. This often results in wasted bombs, because it can take several dozen seconds for bombs dropped from high altitude to reach their target. By the time they land, another player may have already destroyed the base.

This is especially frustrating when several bombers are trying to coordinate their attacks.

My proposed solution:
Give each bombing base a unique identifier, displayed next to the base in the game world and on the tactical map.

For example:

  • T1
  • T2
  • T3
  • T4

The letter T stands for “Target”.

This would allow players to quickly communicate which bases they intend to attack using the team chat. It would also make coordination much easier than using the current quick chat message “Follow me!” or “Check the map!”.

For example, a player Blienwiser could write at the beginning of a match:
[Team] Blienwiser: I take T3 and T1! (Ju 88)

Other players could then choose different targets, reducing the chance of multiple bombers wasting their bombs on the same base.

In-game view:

Tactical map:

Target identifiers next to the base on the map.

Why this would be useful?

  • Less wasted ordnance when several bombers attack at the same time.
  • Easier coordination between teammates.
  • No need to rely on vague quick chat messages.
  • A simple change that could improve teamwork without changing the existing gameplay.

+1, although this mechanic does actually sort of exist in game but not as an interface (you can cycle bases in the Y-Menu and they have numbers assigned)

You can also ping them on the map. Standard communication method.

I would like with simple mechanic, just click on given base on map, the get option to click mark it as targeted which after it would turn into remove marker option, each base could have description how many people marked it and obviously who marked. People would be removed from that list if they already successfully bombed given base or were destroyed themselves.

+1 we seriously need more communication. Also, as Schindibee said, base pinging has been standard for years. So maybe if you ping a base it automatically changes to “attacking T#!”
